I am currently working as the business editor since July 2021. I select news content from various sources for both online and print. My responsibilities include:
• Edit and post business stories for online and print edition. 

• Write tweets for social media posts and approve tweets from other team members
.
• Coordinate and liaise with different writers for opinion pieces and analyses.
• Edit submitted articles in line with the publication’s policies.
• Ensure all Arabic content from our correspondents is sent to the translation team.
• Ensure all copies are edited and in a format that is ready for publishing.
• Review all content and ensure that it is tweaked to editorial standards.
• Rewrite/edit stories submitted by reporters from different bureaus.
• Monitor wire services and select and edit material as per requirements.


Prior to that I worked on the international desk and also remained in-charge of the Opinion desk and two other sections Saudi Pulse and New Media from my appointment in the organization until around the middle of the year 2017.

As the Opinion Editor, I single-handedly selected and edited (and re-wrote) articles from our pool of resources and panel of dedicated columnists and ensure they were in line with the publication’s editorial policies and not against the policies of Saudi Arabia. I assigned writers to work on different subjects. I also used to sift through the letters to the editors, and selected and edited suitable material for publication. In short, I was involved in and responsible for the overall production of the opinion pages, which also included giving ideas to the illustrator /cartoonist for illustrations for various articles and editorial cartoons. I was also responsible for roping in new writers, which I do after running proper background checks and thorough research. In addition to that I used to assign different topics and suggested angles to our Leader writer.
