Prime Job Responsibilities:
* Implementation of corporate occupational Safety, Health & Environmental Policy.
* Implementation of ISO-9001, ISO 14001and OHSAS 18001 and also world class practices.
* Compliance of safety/Environmental related status, Implementation of recommendation of sta
tutory bodies.
* Scheduling and conducting Monthly steering and departmental safety committee meeting.
* Compliance under factories act/Rules, The Gas Cylinder Rules1981, The Building and Other Con
struction Workers Act 1996/Central Rules-1998.
* Compliance under environmental Protection Rules 1986.
* Scrutinize the Pre Task Plan for the safety aspects of new job / new process to be undertaken.
* Site Safety Inspection, Investigation of near miss accident, unusual occurrence& making recom
mendation to avoid recurrence.
* Co-ordinate with the Medical Officer for conducting Medical Examination of employees.
* Advise stores and Purchase Department in ensuring high quality and availability of PPE’s.
* Safety appraisal of vendors, suppliers& new incumbent.
* Ensuring MARS audit / Safety walks compliance of GC & MMRDA.
* Developing HIRA for all critical activities carried out in Project.
* Developed Project SHE Plan and ensuring the 100% adherence & compliance of SHE plan at pr
oject.
* On-site Emergency Preparedness & organizing mock drills etc.
* Motivation of Personnel in safety through Safety Training, Safety Drills, Safety Talks, Safety Fil
ms, Safety Competition, Safety Awards, Safety incentive scheme. etc.
* Co-coordinating with concerned department in planning and organizing measures necessary of
the effective control of unusual occurrences.
* Inspection & Upkeep of Personal Protective Equipments.
* Maintenance and Updating of statutory Records / Returns, renewal of licenses etc.
* Management of industrial Hygiene practices Viz. Noise Control, Ventilation, and Illumination et
c.
* Organizing Safety Promotional Activities such as Celebration of Safety week, Safety Day, Enviro
nment Day, Safety Competition, Safety Campaign and Safety Month
Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Monitoring.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
* Ensure organization activities are following HSSE laws & regulations.
* Coordinate with respective functions heads to comply with all local regulatory & statutory
legislations/ ensure its evaluation.
* Preparing all documentation, submitting all periodical reports, application of all statutory
reports in the area of FA 1948, Environment protection Act, Air & water Act, Gas cylinder rules,
HW (M& H) rule, Consent order, Environmental statement.
* Liaison with external agencies like DISH, Explosive Dept, Pollution control board, National
Safety council, DGFASLI.
* Update legal register, SHE documentation, data control & record management.
EHS System & Process
* Advise the line /Dept managers in planning and organizing measures necessary for effective
control of accidents.
* Advising management on accident prevention program, EHS management plan as per changes
to business, statutory corporate & external HSE requirements.
* Coordinate with management to provide resources safety budget to execute HSE management
system.
* Coordinate with Corp.HSE for formulation of HSE policy, rules and ensure its dissemination
across the plant.
* Maintain Accident / injury statistics record.
* Prepare HSE statistics report and submit it to management for further course of action.
* Monitoring contractors EHS management system, their safety performance.
* Ensuring teams participation in national safety award contests.
* Conducting periodic health check- up of all employees and ensuring medical emergencies are
promptly attended to.
* Conduct safety induction training, orientation to newly hired workers/ employees.
* Conduct / coordinate daily routine/ scheduled HSE inspections, safety patrol rounds with
safety champions.
* Implementation of the work permits system for activities requiring safety precautions.
* Create safety awareness in employees through Safety tool box talks, safety tour, job-oriented
trainings.
* Conduct safety Promotional activities along with line/ dept managers, For e.g Safety week, 5th
June Fire day celebration, Road safety week, 7th
April celebrating World health day.
* Coach, guide &train supervisors in identifying the hazards in their workplace & update HIRA.
* PPE management, usage audits & ensuring quality products availability.
ENVIRONMENT
* Identify sources of environmental pollution & take measures to prevent/ reduce the same.
* Ensuring adherence to Environmental norms, following management procedures,
environmental action plan achieving objectives & targets.
* Waste mgmt, waste control plan and measures to control accidental spills and generate
monthly MIS.
* Operation & maintenance of ETP, STP.
* Ensuring the efficient and cost- effective operation of the Multi Effect Evaporation unit.
* Effluent monitoring is done at various stages by effluent operator daily and treatment doses
are reviewed accordingly. Treated water used for gardening purpose.
* Ensuring the maintenance of all Multi Effect Evaporation equipment in good working condition
* Ensuring the monitoring of the MEE parameters and their compliance with the prescribed
requirements
* Water CESS returns submission & environmental statement submission.
* Hazardous waste management and Disposal as per MPCB norms.
* Conduct monthly Illumination (Lux), Noise and ventilation at different locations in plant
premises as per frequency and parameters mentioned in consent conditions.
* Conducting stack monitoring monthly sampling points with ladder, platforms are provided
