MASIC is a multi-billion dollars Saudi investment office that invests globally in real estate, public equities and private equity asset classes.

I am a Senior member of Direct Investments & Private Equity team. For new investment opportunities, my job responsibilities entail managing an investment process with my team and with the external service providers; performing detailed due diligence, working on complex deal structures, presenting new investment ideas to the Investment Committee etc.

For existing portfolio, my work entails liaising with the senior managements of portfolio companies, providing them guidance on the future strategy/direction of the business, determining any loopholes in the strategy implementation and working with the respective managements towards proactively pursuing operational efficiency and improvement in performance with every passing day.

My job responsibilities encompassed:

Conducting sector analyses on banking sector, fertilizer sector, and providing coverage on Pakistan’s macro-economy as a whole. Responsible for evaluating the economy of Pakistan, the risks that exist and the future outlook. In doing so, I've to connect the indicators that shape the economy and thereby update my organization in this regard.

Valuation / forecasting of companies under coverage using different valuation methods including the Dividend Discount Model (DDM), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Residual Income (RI) approaches along with relative valuation techniques based on multiples.

Developing detailed financial models of KSE listed companies and evaluating their fair values using different valuation techniques to determine if they offer lucrative investment opportunities.

I was a permanent member of Investment Committee of the largest Equity fund in private sector in Pakistan.
My primarily responsibilities included:
Performing in-depth financial analyses of the KSE listed companies to determine their operational as well as managerial strength; from investment perspective, keeping in view the domestic and global dynamics of the industries they operate in.

Collecting and analyzing financial information such as economic forecasts, trading volumes and the movement of capital, financial backgrounds of companies, historical performances and future trends of stocks, bonds and other investment instruments to highlight investment/ disinvestment cases to the top management to buttress fund manager’s core investment decisions.

Performing sector analyses on Fertilizer Companies, Packaging & Paper Board and Automobile & Allied sectors. Identifying financial feasibility of new projects based on various evaluation models and financial projections.

Valuation / forecasting of companies under coverage using different valuation methods including the Dividend Discount Model (DDM), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Residual Income (RI) approaches along with relative valuation techniques based on multiples.

Quarterly, half yearly and annual forecasting of corporate results of assigned companies.

Advising the fund manager regarding the selection and timing of equity investments for the assigned sectors.

Developing and maintaining liaison with sell side analysts, and thoroughly analyzing third party research and advising the fund manager based on the findings.

Liaising with the KSE listed company’s top managements, developing financial models and evaluating their fair values using different valuation techniques to determine if they offer lucrative investment opportunities.
