IT Consultant / Systems Engineer at Qatar Islamic Bank’s Systems Implementation Project.

QIB project is a strategic program to implement 7 key applications (web based and client server) complies with the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) requirements by automating its various functions.

Key deliverables
 Designing, deploying and installing complete IT solutions for the project consisted of 50+ servers in its three different stages such as Development, UAT and Production.
 Planning, installing and supporting HP blade enclosures, HP blade servers, Cisco Catalyst and Fabric slide in switches.
 Develop plans, install and configure Microsoft Windows Server operating system in different configurations (Network Load Balanced, MS Clustered, Microsoft Terminal Services etc) in collaboration with client and vendor resources.
 Installing, maintaining and basic administering of 15+ standalone & clustered SQL Server 2005 and attaching Databases to SAN storage.
 Data and Database backup & restore with EMC Networker data protection solution.
 Manage and support Microsoft Active Directory for user and rights management, LDAP integration and SMTP configuration of the project applications.
 Ensure timely completion of applications installation work to the required quality and technical standards ensuring ITIL best practices are applied.
 Maintain configuration and release management control on all environments for operating systems activities.
 Ensure appropriate security controls are enforced from a user perspective.
 Follow proper version control and release processes in collaboration with the Configuration Manager.
 Complete documentation of solutions, statements of work, progress reports and deliverables.
 Provide training for Technical Support Engineers and IT Application team on applications’ post go-live administration and support.

 Installation and Maintenance of Infrastructure Servers, workstations, Printers, Telephones, Switches, Access points & other devices.
 First level maintenance of Active Directory, MS Exchange Server 2007, Symantec AV server, file server etc.
 Creating users with Mailbox and moving it to appropriate servers, assigning the quota level to mail boxes.
 First level maintenance of Nortel PABX system, telephone network and PROTEUS call management software
 Performing regular backup/restore of the servers and send/receive tapes to offsite storage
 Monitoring Network Traffic, Troubleshooting Connectivity Issues, and Resolve Service Issues.
 Maintenance of Hardware and Software Inventory.
 Maintaining & deploying the Anti-Virus, Service packs and Patch management across IT Infrastructure
 Timely coordination with vendor / service providers and ensures the resolution within Expected time frame
 Assessing IT requirements of the organization in terms of software, hardware and other peripherals/ products, and handling procurement of the same by identifying vendors with reasonable and cost-effective offers.
 Perform on-site and remote technical support to users and log/track the calls in the ticketing system.
 Configuration and maintenance of the IT services like (MS Outlook 2003/2007, CITRIX, Blackberry, MS Office, Antivirus & all other business applications)
 Leading a team of 3 staff for managing the day-to-day IT operational activities.

•Work on ITIL process environment
•Analyze and resolve the issues based on IT Tickets, Mails, and calls
•Supporting first level Administration of windows Active Directory (Creating Users, Groups and moving them into different GOCs).
•Supporting first level in Exchange Server 2003. Such as Creating users Mailbox and moving it to appropriate servers, assigning the over quota level to mail boxes.
•Installation and maintenance of infrastructure servers and providing server related support to various projects.
•Installation and configuration of test servers and domains.
•Coordinating with vendors for resolution of various hardware and software issue.
•Implementation of Internet information services (IIS).
•Creation and implementation of OS Images using Symantec Ghost for different LT/DT hardware models.

•Interacting with Inbound &Outbound users on 24/7 support (VOIP & Mail).

Linux Server
•Installed and configured Redhat Enterprise Linux server and Fedora series.
•Configured Domain Controller using Samba.
•Configured DHCP Server.
•Add, delete and modify the users & groups and setting up user quotas
•Configured and maintained Telnet Server

Windows 2003 Server
•Installed and configured Windows 2003 server as domain controller
•Responsible for installation and maintenance of Wingate proxy server for internet sharing
•Responsible for installation and maintenance of Print servers
•Installed and maintained Firewall to share secure Internet access
•Installed and maintained the multi user license servers of Tally 7.2 Corporate edition, Symantec Antivirus10 and SPSS 14 etc.

Windows XP
•Responsible for repair and maintenance of 500+ desktops and laptop computers
•Installed OS and other applications using Norton Ghost
•Provided technical support for users in Windows 2000 and windows XP
•Backup and restore
•Configured and maintained software like MS Office 2003, Oracle8i, MS Visual Studio.NET, Visual Basic, Java, Photoshop, Flash, Dream weaver, Tally Etc. to meet individual users needs
•Responsible for the maintenance of network and local printers, modems and other hardware devices
•Troubleshoot the problems with Internet Explorer

LAN
•Designed and implemented centralized LANs
•Maintain and troubleshoot Four Local Area Networks
•Installed, configured and maintained Wi-Fi network in campus and grant access to relevant users on the basis of MAC Address filtering.
