Spearhead projects across the MEA region, from procurement to delivery, in accordance with established budgets, deadlines, and objectives.
• Define SOPs, KPIs, and SLAs, regularly reviewing performance against targets to consistently achieve successful, timely project execution.
• Organize complete logistic flows based on several factors, such as the customer, final country of delivery, nature of supply, shipping constraints, packaging, incoterms, and payment.
• Serve as the point of contact for PO management, responsible for submitting and managing contract requests from technical and tender teams; ensure fulfillment of supplier’s contractual terms and conditions in accordance with project’s needs.
• Coordinate complex shipping routes, heavy equipment transportation, and the documentation cycle.
• Foster a culture of strong performance management; anticipate risk; initiate continuous improvement.
• Create internal tools for efficient and accurate reporting.
• Serve as key contributor in the rebalancing of the Regional Execution Center in Egypt; train and mentor people and garner deep understanding of business needs to ensure a smooth startup launch.
Directed stakeholders, suppliers, and the global logistics team across all aspects of GM Egypt network design and procurement, utilizing excellent communication and multitasking skills to achieve deadlines.
• Sourced logistics and supply chain services; focused efforts on international/GM sourcing standards with full integrity.
• Prepared annual contracts for Air/LCL shipments, FCL through MGOB, inbound trucking from ports to plant, import customs clearance, export and drawbacks, and international and domestic couriers.
• Consolidated all purchase requests into purchase orders and blanket orders via SAP; implemented competitive bidding processes for annual contracts, spot buys, and sourcing.
• Advised businesses on Customs operations (e.g. import/export activities) in the GM Egypt and North African region.
• Initiated upstream process improvements, such as developing a strategic delivery model to implement all elements of the Customs enterprise standard.
• Ensured all import/export activities met the country’s operational compliance requirements; maintained GM’s ability to participate in any relevant special programs or other related activities.
• Identified and implemented duty-saving opportunities related to utilization of Free Trade Agreements, government initiatives, productivity improvements, and digitization initiatives.
• Managed all operational metrics and two-way business reviews; led strategic initiatives to improve cost, compliance, and speed metrics.
