1- Managing a portfolio of around 25 clients, ranging between big multinational groups and medium sized entities from hospitality, constructions, trading and retail business sectors.
2- Responsible for managing audit teams ranging between 40 to 60 auditors to perform audit services to these clients annually.
3- Considered in KPMG Dubai as specialist in PCAOB audits of SEC affiliates as well as excellent knowledge of IFRS and ISAs.
4- Major clients in my portfolio are Unilever, BRF, Smiths Group and other subsidiaries of global listed entities.
5- Major achievement: Increasing my portfolio’s fees by approximately AED 2.5 million in 4 years through new won audit proposals and generating overruns from existing clients due to additional time being spent by teams due to audit issues identified.
6- Have been always meeting or exceeding expectations based on partners’ annual evaluation of my performance. In addition to getting positive feedbacks from my team and votes as the best coach from whom they learned during the year 2021.
7- In addition to my main role as Audit Senior Manager, I have also been involved in conducting training courses to junior and experienced staff on IFRS, PCAOB and ISAs.
Job description:
• Responsible for managing the process of acceptance/continuous of the audit engagements in accordance with applicable standards and finalizing the engagement letter with the client;
• Responsible for initial negotiations with the audit clients including fees negotiations, audit plan eg. timing, extent and scope of the audit;
• Responsible for managing the planning phase of the audit including obtaining/updating understanding of the client, assessment of the risk of material misstatements due to fraud or error including risk assessment analysis, setting appropriate materiality levels, designing audit procedures to respond to those risks, understanding of internal control components, managing team planning meetings, mobilization of the audit team and allocation of roles and responsibilities, in addition to managing planning meetings with clients and sign off of planning with the engagement leader;
• Responsible for managing the audit evidence phase of the engagement with 100% review of all audit procedures performed by the team members, raising coaching notes to them and ensure their appropriate clearance, along with appropriate delegation of some straight forward audit areas to other experienced team members to develop their managerial skills;
• Responsible for review of the financial statements and managing and reviewing the completion phase of the audit including reassessment of risks assessed initially during the planning phase based on audit procedures performed, performance of the final conclusion analysis, review of the audit report, reassess the use of the going concern assumption, identified adjusted and un-adjusted misstatements, management representation letter, communications with those charged with governance at the end of the audit, other completion tasks and debriefing the team members about the audit performance as well as providing and seeking performance feedback;
• Responsible for coaching all team members throughout the audit and handling any difficulties they might be facing;
• Responsible for providing audit training courses in accordance with pwc training plans (to all levels from assistant managers and below);
• Responsible for managing review and agreed upon procedures engagements;
• Managing at least 15 audit proposals with potential clients annually;
• Managing the budgets and profitability of the audit engagements (approximately 35 clients); and
• Contributing to pwc annual quality reviews process.
Achievements:
• Exceeded and met expectations on all annual performance feedbacks during my service with pwc;
• Excellent rating on training courses I provided based on attendees feedbacks. I have been the only manager in Jeddah office entitled to provide training courses as an exception from the company's policy to have such courses provided only by senior managers and above;
• Passed all quality reviews on my selected audit files with the highest rating based on pwc criteria (compliant with no comments);
• Enhanced the profitability of my audit engagements with an average of 7% to 10% margin increase during my service as manager since September 2014 till today;
• Have been well known in Dubai and Jeddah offices of my uncompromising focus on quality and hardworking and I was perceived as an IFRS and ISA expert by the partners in Jeddah office and by my audit clients and staff in KSA; and
• I was able to bring new business to pwc with a success percentage of approximately 70% of the proposals I managed.
