PAINT SHOP PRODUCTION Shift Manager
I was only responsible for the Truck spray booth (2003 - 2004), and then I became responsible for the Pretreatment and ELPO line engaged with Truck spray booth (2005 - 2007).
After that the Sealer line is added to my responsibilities (2007 - 2008), and finally the whole paint shop lines production are belong to my job (2008 - 2009), also during this year I was sharing & support for the execution of new paint shop project.
Starting from Sep 2009 a new assignment is added to my responsibilities is the managing of paint process in addition to conducting internal audits for other sections in GM to ensure the implementation of the local regulations, GM requirements and GM policy, and to evaluate their performance regarding environment and health and safety.
Process and operations activities
- Overseeing the production process.
- Launch flawless the new models.
- Ensuring that the production is cost effective, by utilizing the full production line capacity.
- Improve the production line job per hour from 8 JPH to 10 JPH.
- Monitoring the production line time calculations (Ex: cycle time, value added and non-value added time calculations).
- Regular elimination of roadblocks & bottle necks.
Production and manufacturing activities
- Making sure that the products are produced on time.
- Deliver the products with good quality.
- Provide the good environment for healthy competition between workers.
- Reviewing the performance of subordinates.
- Ensuring that the health and safety guide lines are followed.
Environmental activities
- Support in implementation of Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Work as an internal auditor and conduct several audits on the different sections to evaluate their environmental performance based on the local regulations, GM requirements and GM policy.
- Support in closing the corrective action plans (CAP) for non-conformity.
I am starting the building up of plastic painting line from scratch till we become the main supplier of General Motors Egypt for the painted plastic parts (ex: pumpers, Door Handles and Moldings) of the car manufacturer.
I was started at EGC as a laboratory supervisor (1998 - 1999), I was supervising the lab technicians and perform the analytical tests for the different types of Solvents and raw materials (Pigments, Additives and Resins).
After one year I was also responsible for the in-process and end products analytical tests. So I was performing all tests for the products along the whole manufacturing stages (1999 - 2000).
During the period (2000 - 2003) I was working as a Quality supervisor, and finally I transferred to other department for another job which is a Technical support for different car manufacturing companies in Egypt (Ex: General Motors, Mercedes, Nissan, Jeep, and Fiat).
I was starting my working life in this company and I was responsible for the Electro-Plating of the metal substrates, (ex: Door Handle, .., etc).
