•Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
•Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
•Employ a variety of teaching methods to ensure optimal learning for all students. These methods include, but are not limited to, the use of differentiated instruction and teaching to the students’ multiple abilities.
•Use a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.
•Expand the range of learning through whole class, individual, and small group instruction, cooperative education, and multi-sensory learning centers.
•Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
•Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents.
•Promote a positive classroom environment and demonstrate strong classroom management skills in order to create and maintain a learning environment that ensures high levels of learning for all students.
•Create and maintain an active, responsive climate for learning, through positive teacher student rapport and help student to develop a positive self‐image.
•Cooperate with other staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude and learning problems.
