- Answer the telephone and take messages for an office or a department, and also to greet visitors to the office.
- Scheduling and coordinating meetings, events and other similar activities.
- Sending out and receiving mail and packages.

- Select program content, in conjunction with producers and assistants, based on factors such as program specialties, audience tastes, or requests from the public
- Study background information in order to prepare for programs or interviews.

- Requires announcers to prepare for their broadcasts in advance in areas such as topic research, fact-checking and script or show outline preparation.
- Announcers may also have to compile song lists and prepare for personal interviews.
