• Supports and participates Six Sigma initiatives.
• Assist the production manager in ensuring a smooth flow of operations in the production line; act as a substitute when delegated in case of absence.
• Supervises the production lines operation in accordance with plant policies, established procedures, customer requirements, health and safety norm, and labor regulations.
• Plans and controls the daily operations to meet the shift production goals; keeps daily information about the shift and write the events down in the record book.
• Oversees the personnel, equipment, and raw materials of the production area ensuring maximum utilization and highest productivity.
• Ensures that all products meet all the applicable quality standards, make adjustments as necessary during the shift to produce products with specifications, and is involved in the decisions about product quality (8D and line quality reporting).
• Plans manpower assignments and schedules, inclusive of, but not limited to, workstations assignments, breaks, overtime, employee vacations, back up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
• Coordinate and communicates to the supervised team.
• Performs administrative functions such as recruiting, evaluations of work performance, instigating disciplinary actions, and recommending training for line personnel.
• Responsible for maintenance of production equipment, and maintain records of such activity.
• Attends immediately to any problems and downtime in the production line, whether relating to Man, machine or method; highlights and escalates such relevant issues to the production manager
• Trains and coaches production team members, as maybe necessary.
• Substitute the production operator during breaktimes and whenever required.
• Coordinates closely with the Rework Supervisor for repair/feedback of defective products.
• Coordinates with the Logistics Staff for the production schedule, shipment, material availability.
• Collaborates with the other team Supervisors, engineers and support groups regarding production, Quality, Health and Safety, and Maintenance.
