General Duties
• Implement the strategy of CE Installations Ltd. by monitoring the day-to-day activities of the tender and bidding operations
• Take an active role and participate in the managerial team of CE Installations Ltd.
• Prepare department’s progress or status reports
• Analyse and deal with issues which arise from the tender and bidding work
• Plan and monitor the Tender and Bidding departmental budget
• Managing the company’s supply portfolio and ensure transparency supplies costings
• Source and scout new suppliers to look for the most favourable prices
• Attend relevant training and workshops to increase own knowledge
• Travel to attend conventions and similar events, while also gaining more knowledge and practices.
Departmental Duties
• Implement cost-effective practices that maximise efficiency, creativity and innovation in all procedures within the Tender and Bidding Department
• Monitor, evaluate and assess all prepared tender documents and contracts
• Identify any risk factors by ensuring that the technicalities are up to standard to the
tender requirements
• Analyse previous tender status reports to highlight any actions and improvements
that should be factored in for future tenders
• Set streamline processes for tender documentation and planning
• Be in constant communication with both the Technical Manager and the Drafting
Manager to identify methods how to minimise costs while ensuring cost-efficiency
• Build a relationship with strategic partners to leverage business opportunities
• Monitor all activities included in the tendering submission processes
• Liaise with the Procurement Manager to negotiate with any other suppliers and
subcontractors on purchasing material and other resources
• Finalise all direct and indirect costs when consolidating tender documents
• Moderate tender kick-off meetings to communicate the requirements, set
deliverables and responsibility as per the tender documents
- Maintain logs and supervise RFIs, Daily Reports and Submittals on web based program.
- Support Project Manager with M&E project establishment and closeout.
- Review design inputs and review of engineering drawings.
- Prepare reports and study existing technical information clearly and precisely to attain client requirements.
- Participate in project electrical work plan development.
- Guide project installation and commissioning on final load testing.
DESIGNING & DRAFTING
- Prepare detailed drawing for Commercial and Residential Projects.
- Create drawing based on building specifications, calculations and sketches.
- Use CAD equipment and conventional drafting station to prepare drawing charts and Records.
- Develop electrical and structural designs to incorporate into architectural drawings.
SITE MANAGEMENT
- Communicate strategic information regarding suppliers, customers and competition.
- People and Project Management
- Electrical Quality and safety Assurance.
- Visit construction sites to collect measurements and dimensions if needed.
PROCUREMENT & ESTIMATION
- Procurement & Quality Inspection.
- Cost Estimation and Project Feasibility.
- Material Coordination.
I was an Electrical Engineer in Home Tech Services Pvt Ltd, deputed to work with ETA Engineering Pvt Ltd, Cochin with the following roles and responsibilities:-
SITE MANAGEMENT
• Ensuring that the Project Approved shop Drawings, Material Submittals are adhered to the requirement.
• Site Inspection request and Material inspection to be carried out with concern engineers with client and subcontractors.
• Ensuring that the Quality standards as per specifications being followed by the MEP subcontractors.
• Daily tracking of MEP activities such as RFI/Query log, Site MEP approvals log, Material Submittal log, Method Statement log, Material delivery schedule, PMS.
• Conducting regular site progress meetings to discuss the various critical issues
PROCUREMENT & QA/QC
• Preparation & Updating of the Material Procurement Schedule in assistance of planning Engineers.
• Identify the critical activities and their impact on the project schedules.
• Weekly tracking schedules of MEP Material delivery to be Prepared and same to be forwarded to client/consultant for review, record and action.
• Accomplish client requirements of FAT refer with Vendor control document procedures, Approved drawings & plan, approved material submittals
- Supervise Foreman, technicians, and Assistant Technicians in Project Site.
- Inspect the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical wiring for Residential & Commercial Buildings.
- Investigate electrical failures of Lighting and Power Systems.
- Maintain the operating standards for electrical systems and equipment according to the International Standards
