Provides medicine needed by in-patient
Advises patient and healthcare provider of potential drug interaction, possible side effect, storage information and instruction on how to use the medication
Dispenses medicine and related supplies to cash out-patient either by verbal or written prescription issued by a physician
Dispenses medicine to company out-patient and checks the prescription as well to ensure that proper medication is given
Suggesting the doctor the alternative medicine if the prescribed medicine is not available
Confirming from the prescribing doctor if suspected error such as over
dosage is seen in the prescription or the handwriting is not legible to ensure that the proper medication will be given
Compounding dermatological such as creams for beautification and ointment for scabies and also galenicals as ordered by the Dermatologist
Bills in-patient for medicines used and discharges in-patient
Checks and writes daily all out of stock drugs either to be requested from the companies or from the main store
Checks expiry date periodically
Handles cash
Attends scientific workshops, new products/ medicines launching to be aware of the new medicines available in the market, consultative meetings and continuing education on drug related matters and hospital pharmacy practice
