Ensure medicine stock management for the main stocks and the assigned clinic/ health facilities. 2. Ensure medicine dispensing according to guidelines and stock withdrawal forms of the doctors. 3. Keep warehouse records and documents (stock cards, bin cards, waybills, store release, inventory list ...etc.) correct and up to date. 4. Maintain proper storage condition, temperature and humidity for medicine warehouse/store and cold chain items. 5. Assist in ensuring Quality Assurance in medicinal and supply management 6. Timely produce procurement request maintaining buffer stocks 7. Take timely measures to avoid stock-out and expiry of medicines and supplies 8. Maintain statistics and indicators to monitor performance, risk assessment, workload management and communicate to relevant parties. 9. Building the capacity of warehouse staff and work for smooth workflow. 10. Strictly follow DGHS and IOM standards with respect to customer-friendly services, confidentialities of medical information, ethical standards and healthy working environment. 11. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following manufacturer`s instructions troubleshooting malfunctions calling for repairs maintaining equipment inventories evaluating new equipment and techniques 12. Perform such other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor. 13.Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. 14.Compounds, labels and packages medications and pharmaceuticals 15.Advises patients and family on use of various medications including dosage, side effects and composition. 16.Ensures secure storage of narcotics and other controlled substances on a regular basis. 17.Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensure that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements. 18.Assists in preparing required reports by compiling information.
Area of Expertise Health (0.2 yr), Health Safety and Environment (0.2 yr), Monitoring (0.2 yr) Duties/Responsibilities 1.Dispense medicines to all patients according to the doctor`s prescription and ensure that the prescription is align with drug indication. 2.Check all prescription for drug interactions, medicine duplication, poly pharmacy, contraindications, allergies, suspected misuse and abuse and reach to the prescribe for any incomplete prescription. 3. Provide counselling to patients regarding the proper usage and side effect of prescribed medications with clear instruction on drug dose, strength, frequency, dosage form and quantity in both written and verbally. 4. Ensure regular inventory and consumption tracking of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies are completed and weekly and monthly report are submitted to Country Pharmacist. 5. Ensure an updated inventory of all Controlled Drugs and keep these drugs in a locked cabinet. 6. Routinely monitor the expiry dates of medicines and ensure FIFO is always maintained. 7. Keep the pharmacy premises clean and store the medicine appropriately with up to date stock cards. 8.Organize the pharmacy in a structural way which is easy to dispense and ensure the optimum security of the premises. 9. Monitor and ensure optimum room temperatures and relative humidity are maintained and charting room temperatures regularly. 10. Prevent pilferage, physical damage, and contamination of drugs. 11. Ensure drug stock levels are notified to the line manager to avoid stock out. 12.Work with other health staffs to ensure clinic areas are appropriately stocked with essential equipment and supplies. 13. Work with relevant staff to ensure prompt requesting of medical drugs and supplies. 14.Supervise Pharmacy Assistant if necessary. 15. Maintain open and professional relationship with team members, promoting a strong team spirit, provide guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions. 16. Provide pharmaceutical support and mentor ship to other facility staff, providing on the job training where necessary. 17.Willingness to serve mobile medical team in post disaster if necessary.
