• Executed business development to secure joint ventures in the food & beverage and transport sectors. As a result of my business development efforts, there are currently 6 companies (of 50) who are willing to invest time and effort into bedding down a pilot project.
• Successfully sized and sourced solutions for mobile/GPS software and mobile games (amounting to AED 300, 000) and ad serving, hiring devices and VAS aggregation (costing AED 370, 000) with projected revenue model over 7 months of over AED 3 million.
• Worked with and managed vendor companies in planning and procurement of the above solutions including the development of business models and cost models for solution viability.
• Successfully marketed, sold and delivered several training programs over 6 months
• Software Evaluation (Costing and Estimation) - Construction
Developed metrics and an Excel based ‘Dashboard’ that demonstrates project performance for each division against set corporate metric targets. This dashboard helps to measure KPI.
• Conducted a ‘Gap Analysis’ to identify system requirements, studied the business case and set out the roadmap for sourcing an automated PPM tool for Dubai Airports.
• Developed and managed a quality assurance system with the corporate portfolio register whereby issues reduced by 15% within 2 months of implementation encouraging a focus on quality.
• Co-facilitated a mechanism to report progress of corporate risk for approximately 250 projects with a total budget exceeding AED 900 million to the Risk Management Team. Also individually reconciled the risks between the Corporate Risk Register and the Corporate Portfolio Register.
• Was accountable for business planning, budget cycle support, project identification, start up and prioritization, program and business performance tracking and management, corporate metrics, relationship management with master program leads and quality and process improvement.
Managed the customer care component of the Fixed Enterprise Data Migration (FEDM) project with 18, 000 accounts being migrated from legacy to target CRM and billing systems in 17 batches. Also appointed chairperson of the ‘War Room’ comprising of a team of more than 20 persons for the entire 18 months of the project.
• Executed a war room for MNP (Mobile Number Portability) in co-operation with the mobile network division upon being approached to set it up as a result of successes on FEDM.
• Successfully implemented 15 fixed product launches, various internal software, data migration and switch migration initiatives.
• Successfully implemented project tracking on Share Point for customer care and support.
• Managed the ‘Payment experience program’ consisting of 54 initiatives across 11 streams, with each project lasting 3 to 6 months. Managed 3 external vendors, 15 project managers and an extended team of 25 people.
• Functioned both at the program level and the project level prioritizing, resolving issues, fast tracking initiatives, ensuring resource capacity, working with vendors and departmental SPOCS, setting up teams, aligning them and mobilizing them to action.
• Managed a team of project managers and project specialist support personnel across infrastructure expansion projects, complete corporate projects, CRM and related roadmaps, systems and demand management roadmap and product launch management.
• Was responsible for managing, conducting business analysis, managing project personnel and initiatives across 5 African regions: South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Kenya.
• Implemented, managed, reported and supported initiatives such as VSAT, Wimax, Wi-Fi, VoIP, SDL, data migration and new product development.
• Accountable for product design and implementation of MWEB VoIP product for the African market on the VSAT Platform.

Successfully drafted, executed and managed the request for proposal (RFP) for access control and CCTV.
• Handled RFP sign off, systems specifications and signing contractors.
• Accountable for the integration of a generator and UPS in Phase 1 of the Water view Park.
• Planned and commissioned for tenant fit-outs in Phase 2 including marketing of rentable space, office accommodation, ensuring access control, space planning etc.

Responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams comprising inhouse IT & Technical Support, Facilities Mgt, Logistics, Mechanical & Electrical, Security & Access Control, Emergency & Standby Power, Telco & Telephony, Server Room Design, Data Cabling, Space Planning & Design, Fixture & Finishings and Lighting Sub-Contracts
Responsible for co-ordinating and liaison between the Client, Project Community and the Main Contractor including their team of Architects, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil & Design Engineers, Quantity Surveyors & Site Staff
ACHIEVEMENT
Successful migration of Proc-Cyber (+- 300 personnel) & Forwardslash (+- 500 personnel) their data, systems, hardware, equipment with an up-and-running network, voice and data on the 12th and 23rd of Jan 2006 respectively with no downtime.
• Successfully implemented PABX and switchboard services for standard furnishing worth ZAR 30, 000.
• Streamlined the business value chain, developed processes and a website.
• Strategized and converted a project contract into a joint venture between Old Mutual and Diocesan College resulting in an increase of ZAR 20, 000 in revenues.
• Marketed and delivered training programs for Yskor amounting to ZAR 40, 000.
• Implemented marketing collateral for Platform Integration.
• Was accountable for managing projects, selling products and services and develop markets for PABX platforms, call center solutions, least cost routing, wireless, satellite, VoIP, VoD, Voice Attendant, leased line connectivity and project management services.

• Managed a team of consultants and MBP practitioners including outsourcing deployment, briefings, relationship management and client management.

• Developed and delivered numerous managerial, life skills, occupational specific and end-user computer training courses ranging from 10 to 15 course attendants.
Main role was that of line manager heading up the Personnel Department which consisted of many other ancillary departments. In this role I formed part of the senior management team. I had a span of control over approximately 200 personnel, with 5 heads of departments reporting directly to me. During this period I managed and authorised all Human Resource functions including Compensation Management, Industrial Relations, Training and Development, Social Security and Organisational Development

First exposure to Project Management & Building Construction
Role involved co-ordinating planning and commissioning for the Laboratories, Operating Theatres, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Information Technology & other ancillary departments. Was on the core project team that put together the Architects brief which included Architectural, Mechanical & Electrical requirements, Loose Equipment & Fixed Equipment, Services & Systems. My portion of the project was approximately R25 Million and dealt with Engineers, Architects, Quantity Surveyors and End Users in defining the requirements and briefing the design consortium team
Assignments post project also extended to areas of:

- Space Planning & Decanting
- Emergency Planning, Safety and Security
- Manpower planning, forecasting & budgetting
For all of the latter was actively involved in implementing and writing the policies that would govern the ongoing ancillary operations of the hospital
