• Responsible for payables function of one of group subsidiaries.
• Processing invoices, journals and the entry of transactions into the relevant finance systems (Oracle & Microsoft Dynamics AX), including but not limited to, customer and vendor creation, journals.
• Reconcile accounts, including the balance sheet accounts and manage receipting process.
• Respond to and investigate or escalate queries from multiple stakeholders (buying departments, vendors) concerning Finance Shared Service activities, including Purchase Order queries & SoA’s.
• Undertake regular analysis and reporting (e.g. debtor account balances, outstanding payable transactions), highlighting recurring business issues to inform management and assist in providing recommendations to resolve.
• Contribute to the review and continuous improvement of Finance Shared Services processes and procedures
• Provide support, as required, for the on-going development of Finance Shared Services process initiatives across the function, including participation in project and working groups.
• Processing of outstations’ payable invoices in Oracle as per PO/ Contract in compliance with financial policies.
• Invoice accounting with proper accounting codes.
• Obtaining confirmation of services with user departments in order to process the invoices and interacting with them to resolve queries.
• Preparation of Daily Invoice Aging Report for management.
• Preparing Payment Analysis and Contract Synopsis.
• Corresponding with suppliers to resolve invoice related queries.
• Preparation of suppliers’ statement of accounts on monthly basis.
• Continuous coordination with PIA Domestic and International Station and Finance Managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions related to monthly, quarterly and annual closings and to reconcile accounts related to Hajj, Virtual Agents & Web Sales, Receivables and Payables.
• To ensure closing of ledger accounts within the timelines set by Management and to pass adjustment Journal Voucher entries (JV’s) as per Corporation’s guidelines.
• Review General Ledger (GL) account balances on the monthly basis to ensure plausibility of entries & to inquire Station Managers for major transactions.
• Performing Cost to Revenue ratio analysis of International Stations for subsequent reporting to Higher Management.
• Preparation of Accounts’ schedules for External Auditors & to act in liaison with Internal/External Auditors.
• Quantification and adjustment of station wise Foreign Exchange gains/losses arising in Receivable & Payable accounts.
• Keeping record of agents’ sales versus their financial guarantees & to intimate relevant departments on timely basis in case of overselling.
• Preparation of daily, fortnightly and monthly financial reports on MS-Excel & MS-PowerPoint for presentations to Higher Management.
• Preparation of reports through Airline specific software i.e. SABRE Terminal Emulator and COSSAP (Corporate Standard Station Accounting Package).
• Served as the Main Coordinator at PIA Finance, Head Office for Hajj 2016 operation.
