Making appointments, processing repair orders, quotes and invoices. Providing customer support via phone and face-to-face at the dealership. Qualifying customer problems and logging them for technicians to review. Ensuring customer approval for all remedial work to be carried out. Internal coordination of service work to adhere to commitments made to customers. Estimating costs and time for work to be carried out, and maintaining customer contact to ensure smooth delivery of vehicle
Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules. Verifying warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions. Developing estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labour; calculating customer& payment, including deductibles. Preparing repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system. Maintaining customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation. Maintaining automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned. Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers and publications.
As a Technician:
Examined work orders and discussed work with manager
Performed regular vehicle maintenance tasks; oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
Teste parts and associated systems to make sure that they are working accurately
Identified mechanical problems of cars manually or by means of computerized diagnostic tools
Replaced damaged parts of vehicle
Repaired different parts of automotive systems
Informed clients on work performed, overall condition of vehicle and future repair requirements
Followed checklists to make sure that all critical parts are inspected.
