Exponent Technology is a service provider that specializes in helping firms develop asset management and tracking solutions. Beginning with developing RFID and barcode solution the company now uses unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS) and their ability to integrate auto-ID technologies to provide a unique set of mission capabilities.
Below are the main projects:
1. Asset Tracking and Management with RFID
This application helps to track large size assets. For example, a car dealer would find it extremely difficult to identify a specific car from a stock of new cars parked in yards.
We provide an end to end solution for tracking the assets. An RFID will be tagged and recorded when a new car is received and added to the stock. Everyday an autonomous drone will fly over the cars and record its GPS position. All the data will be sent to a server using a 4G Network.
2. Drone Tracking with Control Airspace
Exponent provides a Tracking Device for drones which is developed in-house. This tracking device sends the information of drone e.g. to the server using a 2G/3G network. We process the data set geo co-ordinates where the drone should be flying. If the drone wanders outside the set area or above the set altitude, an SMS is sent to the pilot.
The process at the server side is optimized to process data from multiple drones at the same time.
A flight report is sent to the registered user at the end of the flight with a mini track image and graph showing various information during the course of the flight.
3. Drone Management (Exponent Portal)
We started the portal for managing the internal drones that we own, but ended up integrating all solutions at one point.
The portal integrates RFID Asset Management, Drone Tracking and Airspace Control as a single solution. We also have the Drone Inventory Management, including the details of the battery used, ground station controller etc. to make sure all items are in good shape.
* Developed reusable components (ICE - Internet Component Engine) using ASP & Visual Basic DLLs, which can be plugged-in to any web application and reduce overall development time
* Developed modules like CMS, CRM, e-Commerce which can be used as framework for any web application and reduced the project development time and ensure stability
* Quality Control the deliverables which includes testing with multiple test cases, cross browser compatibly, Mobile Friendly W3C standards for HTML output
* Creation and maintenance of many Web sites and applications for corporate, non-profit and other clients. Performed the full spectrum of Web-related tasks, including rapid prototyping, design and layout, graphics creation and optimization, server-side programming, MySQL databases, AJAX interactivity, standards-compliant XHTML and CSS, testing, training, hosting, security, traffic generation and ongoing updates.
* Applications developed from scratch include Task Management system, Ticket Reservation, Customer Support Portal, Newsletter distribution with monitoring etc.
