PHARMACY IN CHARGE
*Ensuring medicines are stored appropriately and securely;
*Supervising the work of less experienced and less qualified staff;
*Checking prescriptions to ensure that there are no errors and that they are appropriate and safe for the individual patient;
*Answering questions about medicines from within the hospital, other hospitals and the general public;
*Advise the patient on how to best take his or her medications.
*Participate in training programs with other healthcare professionals to ensure they dispense quality services to patients.
*Keeping up to date with research and development;
Purchase
*Providing information on expenditure on drugs;
*Facilitating the procurement of medicines that meet prescribed safety and health standards at a cost-effective price.
*Drafts purchase orders for the required medication for a pharmacy and ensures the orders are in par with the budgetary allocation.
*Reviews purchase orders and other documentation drafted by procurement and ensures they are accurate.
*Develops relationships with suppliers and distributors of medicines, and negotiates for suitable prices.
*Keeps accurate records of all medicines in their possession and the funds applied in acquiring new medication.
*Determine whether there are any shortages in their stock of medicine and make requests to management for funds to acquire the drugs.
*Manage emergency stock to be made available during stock-outs.
*Review all documentation received in their office to ensure the procedures for procurement of drugs followed the proper pharmacy policies.
*Ensuring that the procedures regarding purchasing, storage and distribution of drugs from the pharmacy follow the prescribed legal polices.
Before completing Bachelor In Pharmacy am already completed Diploma In pharmacy and Resisted as the Pharmacist in Kerala State Pharmacy Council-India
