Responsible for ongoing maintenance and future planning of the company’s
desktop/Laptop environment.
• Consulting with IT manager and various functional heads in supporting and developing
identified business essential technologies.
• Training end-users on hardware functionality and software programs e.g. Microsoft 365
• Conduct ICT preventive maintenance activities and ensure system security.
• Assist in daily monitoring of ICT systems and respond quickly to any service or security
concerns
• Install, set up, configure, and test various application programs on user workstations and
smart devices, including audio/visual conferencing equipment.
• Monitoring hardware, software, network, and system performance metrics.
• Updating computer software. as well as upgrading hardware/systems and troubleshooting
ad-hoc user problems
• Documenting processes and performing diagnostic tests.
• Ensure the IT asset management system is always up to date.
• Keep abreast of technological developments, current initiatives, and changes in ICT and
appraise the management accordingly.
Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer
systems and network servers.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems
and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
• Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or
upgrades of IT infrastructure.
• Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for
data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
• Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications,
workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved promptly with limited
disruptions.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Systems installations, fault reporting, and systems monitoring to ensure
availability through the operating cycle.
• Carry out troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance to ensure the system is always
operational.
• Undertake periodic system backups as required and carry our system recovery
• Liaise with the project engineer on all matters relating to data capture, archiving &
dissemination.
• Act as the company’s quality representative to ensure that all health and safety
procedures are carried out correctly according to local, national, and international
legislation.

Specific Duties:
• At all times, comply with the SGS code of integrity and professional conduct.
• Responsible for the maintenance of an operational system.
• Maintain a log of all system occurrences and brief the manager on the same.
• Ensure uninterruptable data capture, storage, archiving, and dissemination.
• Provide technical support to the team.
• Prepare and maintain a schedule of preventive maintenance for computer hardware.
• Carry out troubleshooting, repairs, and periodic system back-up.
• Maintain good relationships with service companies that provide repair services to
ensure guaranteed timely receipt of repair and maintenance services.
• Guide computer users on user protocols.
• Data management including backups and recovery.
• Take timely appropriate action on system deviations.
• Provide comprehensive training to users to optimize systems maintenance and resolve
recurring issues.
• Coordinated with systems partners to finalize designs and confirm requirements.
• Update software products and improve system compatibility.
• Install patches and solutions to fix bugs in existing applications.
• Spearhead inventory control measures to replenish and maintain IT equipment, supplies,
tools, and replacement parts.
• Oversaw IT activities to maintain operations by maintaining laptops, printers, etc. for
users.
• Trained junior members regarding network security and basic troubleshooting.
• Recommended design solutions and integration solutions.
• Ensured network system and data availability and integrity through preventive
maintenance and upgrades.
