At RPC, I am responsible for reviewing a range of commercial contracts including terms and conditions, terms of business agreements and insurance policies. I identify potential breaches, carry out legal research on applicable areas of law and liaise with experts to gather supportive evidence. Once I apply the legal principles and come to an evidence-based conclusion, I advise clients on possible solutions and strategic next steps.

I manage my own case load and this involves taking the initiative to drive results for my cases and proactively report to clients with key developments. I am a tenacious problem solver and I am able to make effective decisions. This is demonstrated by my ability to settle cases favourably for my clients following one-on-one settlement negotiations with the opponent’s solicitor, despite facing strong resistance. My settlement achievements were recognised and I was awarded a “Pay Compliment” by a senior associate.

I have strong communication skills and I regularly manage external legal advisers, such as counsel. My responsibilities include managing counsel’s input and reviewing counsel’s advice, then interpreting the advice for clients in an understandable and simple way.

Juggling multiple projects is a something I do well. I manage numerous cases at the same time and ensure that court deadlines are met. My excellent drafting skills, accompanied with my ability to analyse commercial contracts will be of great use to the role of Legal Counsel with Hikma. I have experience of drafting contracts, such as settlement contracts, standstill agreements, reports and advice, court documents letters of claim.
