o Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring
o Issue material to contractors and supervising subordinate staff.
o Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts
o Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial and domestic electrical systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards, including in fire alarms and security systems
o Rewire faulty electrical systems, such as lighting, heating systems, and alarms
o Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements
o Plan and schedule projects, estimate time and materials, supervise subordinates.
o Carry out works to Sustainable Water in Africa organisation and IEC standards for all electricity services, including wiring and sizing standards and maintenance services;
o Conduct the installation and maintenance of the electrical wiring and distribution systems for all SUSWSA offices and warehouses as required, ensuring a safe and reliable working environment according to the SUSWSA and IEC electrical standards.
o Troubleshoot and resolve electrical outages.
o Provide written requests for materials and keep detailed reports on storage and usage of these materials.
o Provide advice to concerned parties on technical aspects of installation, modification and repair of electrical equipment.
o Recommend procedure revisions when necessary to fully utilize assigned personnel and equipment. Repairing generator and including maintenance of generator set.
o Determine procedures for maintenance, installation, modification and repair of electrical equipment. Check fuel filter and oil filter for the generator and contacting preventive maintenance to generator according to the manufacturer’s procedure manual.
o Inspect work to ensure compliance with standard procedures and electrical assignments. Inspect generator power house and switch on and off power breaker system for the all utilizes consumption
o Examine electrical services for proper working procedures.
o Perform other related duties as required.
