I am the Lifting Superintendent working on Chevrons Gorgon and Wheatstone Gas Plants. I have been coordinating all lifting activities on Chevron Australia's major Turnarounds from developing lift plans and reviewing critical lift studies, liaising with other contractors and managing a workforce of over 50 riggers and crane operators
Coordinating contractor personnel on large 40+ day Turnarounds on a live plant worth 350m+
• Managing work scopes, mobilisation and development of 100+ riggers and crane operators
• Supervising the assembly, reconfiguration, rigging & lifting activities with:
• Crawler cranes ranging from 150 - 1250t including in super lift and luffing fly
configurations
• All terrain cranes ranging from 40 - 750t in Y-frame and luffing fly configurations
• Franna and rough terrain cranes mobilising around site on day to day duties
• Lifting large mechanical components and structural modules weighing between 50t - 350t.
• Planning and overseeing rigging activities on GE Frame 7 gas turbine major overhauls and
Frame 9 hot gas path inspections
• Supervising all crane movements and heavy lifting
• Consulting with engineers and planners developing lift studies
• Working in and around live gas plants during start up, commissioning and maintenance
• Solving problems associated with high pressure and tight deadlines calmly and positively
• Skilled on MSWord, Excel, Powerpoint, Navisworks and AUTOCAD programs amongst others
• Subject matter expert providing advice on work scopes internationally and offshore
• Consulting for Hazid and constructability workshops for various lifting projects

Site: Barrow Island, WA (Chevron)
• Manage rigging and crane activities on Gorgon LNG Train 1, 2 and 3 Major Turnarounds in
October 2019, May 2020 and May 2021 without injury. Workforce included over 100
personnel over day and night shift for each event.
• Developing lifting and transport plans for major overhauls on GE frame 7 gas turbines
• Design and coordinate engineering and fabrication of large rotor transport frames, modified
lifting beams and skating equipment
• Develop and review plans on late scope inclusions such as change out of large turbine
exhaust stack weighing 50+t using a Liebherr LTM1750 in TYV2ENH configuration
• Integrating mobilisation plan for 15 cranes ranging from 25t Frannas to LTM1750 all-terrain
cranes from Dampier to Barrow Island and back with environmental personnel, crane
contractors and transport representatives
• Developing lift studies for major shutdowns on site, including scoping work fronts, selecting
cranes and rigging equipment
• Calculating weights and organising correct gear to execute tasks safely and efficiently
• Implementing equipment management systems to locate and safely store all lifting gear on
site
• Involved in directly reviewing Chevron global lifting and Working at Height procedures into
a more practical, user friendly system
• Planning tasks using AUTOCAD, Navisworks, LICCON and other software
• Coordinating and overseeing the execution of smaller events on site
• Appointed as a point of contact for contractor tender review documentation and
expectations.
• Consulted with on best practice for rigging and lifting activities for projects in Kazakhstan,
Iraq and offshore upgrades and fabrication in Australia.

• Co-ordinating Cranage and rigging works in and around live plant during commissioning and
start up
• Developing Critical, High Risk and Non-standard lifting evaluations, scoping future work
fronts and prioritising crane requests for maximum efficiency and crane utilisation

• Developing permits and high risk lift evaluations to carry out work safely and efficiently
over live hydrocarbon lines
• Accurately planning work fronts using Navisworks and AUTOCAD programs
• Conducting walk through inspections with safety representatives and Leading Hands
• Removing and re-installing valves and pipework during compressor shutdown on train 1
• Liaising with other disciplines to safely complete hook ups into existing gas lines
• Involved in risk assessment workshops and reviewing safe lifting and rigging around critical
isolations

• Overseeing the safe installation of 96 x 1300mm x 70m long 70t finger pipes on the largest
slug catcher in the southern hemisphere utilising Liebherr LR1350 and Terex- Demag
CC2800 crawler cranes
• Dual crane lifting, rotating and installing the Slug Catcher end manifolds weighting 89t with
Demag CC2800 Crane in superlift configuration and LR1300 crawler cranes
• Steel erection duties on pipe rack and associated structures
• Installing spools and tie in pipework
• Meeting tight installation deadlines
• Co-ordinating crane movements around site
• Supervising up to 25 riggers per day
• Liaising with other trades to determine best crane selection for safety and efficiency
• Scoping out new work fronts and working with engineers to plan upcoming work fronts
• Overseeing the safe operation of 12+ cranes per day site wide

• Relief superintendent
• Coordinating crane and transport movements
• Overseeing rigging and lifting duties of 20-30 riggers and crane operators, as well as 15-20
semi trailer drivers, forklift operators and T/A’s every day
• Ordering lifting gear and organising lifting operations based on future work scope
• Liaising with engineers and other supervisors developing work packs
• Reviewing lift studies and co-ordinating workforce and cranage requirements

• Building two stackers, one reclaimer and a ship loader

• Setting up SPMT module transporters to move large pre-fabricated modules

• Leading Hand rigger on Lampsons newly delivered Manitowoc 18000 (600t lift crane
configuration)
• Assembly and commissioning of new Manitowoc 18000, assembling Manitowoc 4100 (200t)
and 7150 Kobelco (150t) crawler cranes
• Working with Demag AC100 (100t) All Terrain crane, gaining experience setting up and
operating that crane (under supervision)
• Understanding complex rigging arrangements and following lift studies used for heavy and
dual crane lifts
• Constructing two 1.8km overland conveyors and stackers
