Job Resnsibilities:
Material Quality & Site QA-QC Management:
Review and approval of the contractor’s proposed materials and methods as instructed by the Project Director (PD) and Resident Engineers (REs)
Conduct all the routine tests for the received Materials as per the Project requirement and frequency of the Project Specification.
Follow up Material approvals from the relevant authorities
Analyze and interpret laboratory results for approval or advice for potential areas of improvement.
General oversight of the contractor’s daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance and guidance on the contractor’s operations.
Attend and lead inspections on site as required
Review of contractor’s testing requests and following completed reports.
Review and approve the contractor’s submissions
Monitor the performance of material delivery and accuracy of materials used on site
Coordination with contractor’s supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence and method of work
Ensure and monitory compliance with the contractor’s schedule
Continuous field inspections of the work in the progress; consultation with both the Project Principal and Contractor’s supervision staff
Preparation of reports to the PD and REs on contractual and procedural matters
Inspect all delivered material to site as per the raised MIR.
Coordinate with Project/Site Engineers in site; Conduct Joint inspections with consultant on daily activities; Deal with the subcontractor’s activities;
Review ITP, Method of statement, Risk assessment submitted by contractor for client approval.
Arrange site quality meetings with Project management, Contractors and Subcontractors.
Raise NCR for any Quality issues to Contractor, follow up the rectification works immediately as per Root causes.
Conduct Quality Training program weekly on any Quality topics as per the project Requirement.
Material Approval & Quality Control activities of various projects under Meydan Sobha.

❖ Material selection, Procurement, Material Submittal, Sampling and Testing for the approval as per the Project requirement; Inspect all delivered material to site; raise MIR and arrange inspection.
❖ Revise & prepare material submittal & sample board as required format & stds/compliance to specs
❖ Check delivery materials & its conformance to the project specification.
❖ Inspect material storage area & give recommendation to site team
❖ Coordinate with project consultant, do join inspections, test witnessing and make reporting
❖ Involved in initial testing of materials for obtaining approvals
❖ Maintain log of all approvals & pending materials. Liaise with site requirements
❖ Issue and follow up NCRs on the site activities for deviation from the project plan.
❖ Perform other responsibility associated with position as may be appropriate.
❖ Liaise with storekeeper for material deliveries, procurement manager and suppliers.
❖ Report to RE, QA/QC manager and Project director weekly with all updates of material management and compliances.
❖ Coordinate with Project/Site Engineers in site; Conduct Joint inspections with consultant on daily activities; Deal with the subcontractor’s activities; prepare ITP, Method of statement, Risk assessment for client approval.
❖ Attend site quality meetings with Consultant, Project management and Subcontractors.
❖ Raise NCR for any Quality issues to the site team or Sub contractors work, follow up the rectification works immediately as per Root causes given.
❖ Conduct Q-talk program weekly in site Team on any Quality topics as per the Company Quality Policy.
❖ Conduct all the routine tests for the received Materials as per the Project requirement and frequency; in-situ testing or Laboratory testing, do witnessing; maintain records.
• Receive and review the Materials and Test Requests from Consultants with Project Specifications and requirements for projects under RTA and Dubai Municipality-Awarded for Job Excellence.
• Awarded for the job excellence in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014(fq) - Material Testing and Approval-Sub base, Road base, Asphalt, concrete, steel products etc.
• Awarded for Customer Satisfaction 2012, 2013, 2014-Respond to customers Material Submissions, Test enquires, Follow Up
• Oversees and ensures that all Material submission and Quality testing is being undertaken in accordance with the contract specifications.
• Supervise the Project Registration, request, sample approval with the DM Technical team coordinating with project Consultant.
• Follow-up laboratory tests of various construction materials including Soil, Aggregate, Concrete, Asphalt, Steel, Paint, Ceramic tiles, Kerbs etc.
• Supervise a Technical team for sample receiving, preparation for Tests on the Asphalt, Road base, Concrete, Cement, Steel, Paint products, Aggregate, water, Ceramic Tiles etc.
• Assist the Material Engineers of Consultant and contractor for any issues with test results and failure actions.
• Coordinate the Concrete and Asphalt mix designs with the Project Consultants and lab Units from the Submission till Reporting.
• Review and reply the test inquiries and report follow ups from the clients outside U.A.E.
• Prepare the lab unit for the internal and external audits with frequent monitoring and maintaining all QC records.
• Conduct analysis as required after receiving tests results from technicians, and ensure it compliance with national and international standards.
• Assist the DCL Research team for the Constr. Research projects.
• Assist the Internal Quality Assurance program and suggest the needful updates in work instructions.
• Ensure proper implementation of safety regulations and protection measures are taken in the lab.
• Coordinate Calibration and in house checks of laboratory equipments
• Assist the Lab Technicians for any LIMS issues and issues in test reports.
• Ensure proper storage of received samples, maintain and record specified sample storage conditions, if any, curing and ambient temperature.
• Supervise the Sample Disposal Schedule weekly in coordination with Sample store In charge; follow up sample disposal and maintain related records.
• Assist the lab units for the overall activities to secure high efficiency in lab performance and reporting the activities monthly to Engineering Material Section Manager.
• Supervised Technicians and Chemists in the lab for Material Testing.
• Coordinated the test activities and the preparing the reports to Dubai Municipality -DCL Certification Dept.
• Provided Technical support to the Technicians and chemist; Arranged witnessing for Consultants
• Managed laboratory activities to secure high efficiency and effective organizational performance.
• Provided technical advice to the team for Analyzing of test results, preparation of various test worksheets and report formats, making records, and scheduling testing programs.
• Supervised training programs for Clients and lab technicians for various tests.
• Conducted meeting with the Consultant and Contractor Material Engineers of new projects.
• Lead the team for Introducing new tests developing and advanced testing.
• Prepared the team for the implementation of Quality Management System ISO 17025 for the laboratory; Reported to the Lab Manager.
•Tested soil, water, concrete, aggregates, additives and steel samples according to relevant test standards-BS and ASTM standard.
•Analyzed Material by X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry
•VOC - of paints, liquids, Admixture, and other Chemicals.
•Reviewed test data worksheets completed by technicians.
•Job supervision and advice to Chemists in performing tests.
