• To liaise with and communicate to the appropriate section heads/responsible parties of the Ground Handling, Cargo Handling Agent and Regulatory Authorities, the planned require-ments in respect of the handling and documentation of import, export and transfer Cargo, Mail and Express products.
• To monitor the acceptance, handling and delivery of import, export and transfer cargo prod-ucts and associated documentation to ensure adherence to policies and procedures and facil-itate optimum operational efficiency, service and product quality standards.
• To communicate with outstations by exchanging information to achieve the operational ob-jectives and thus deliver best service to customers.
• Give direction to Shift Duty staff for any problems anticipated or faced in order to ensure load plan executed most efficiently.
• Co-ordinate with stations within EK network regarding transit approvals for special load like, Live Animal’s, Arms and Ammunition etc.
• Monitor the warehouse inventory being done at HUB and providing suggestions for im-provement.
• Co-ordinate with stations within EK network regarding DG related discrepancies and initi-ate recovery measures.
• Review discrepancy reports, ensure corrective measure is implemented to eliminate repetition of the errors thereby minimising Company's liabilities. Provide feedback to staff as necessary in case of discrepancies.

• To closely co-ordinate the build-up activity on a shift basis in order to achieve the Sky Cargo objectives by monitoring the loading activities in the warehouse as well as the aircraft side.
• Plan the loading of the cargo products into ULDs/bulk for carriage on the assigned aircraft in accordance with the priorities given and the volume and payload available, to achieve the optimum utilisation of capacity.
• To update information on SkyChain with shipment details this will enable customers to track the status.
• Check that cargo is loaded as specified in the load plan for the assigned flights to ensure that the safety of the aircraft is not compromised and service and product quality standards are maintained
• To communicate with outstations by exchanging information to achieve the operational objectives and thus deliver best service to our customers.
• Monitor the delivery times of cargo from the ramp to the warehouse and subsequent processing to assure quality standards in respect of customer service detailing deviations in order to maintain and enhance product quality.
• Create load plans for all flights based on trim and balance or aircraft for maximum utilisation of space.
• Give direction to Shift Duty staff for any problems anticipated or faced in order to ensure load plan executed most efficiently.
• Keep handling agent advised of corporate handling policies and requirements.
• Ensure correct procedures and equipment deployed for acceptance, storage, handling and loading of dangerous goods and special loads for safety of aircraft, personnel and passenger.
• Ensure smooth handling of cargo throughout Cargo Operations (Landside and Airside) by performing Multi-skilled role while utilising the resources provided effectively. Perform car-go handling including documentation, customer service, acceptance, delivery, breakdown, build up.
• Direct and assist the team of Porters and Equipment Operators as required in cargo handling e.g., build-up and breakdown, acceptance and delivery, and documentation of cargo, courier and mail, in accordance with the requirements of the principals whilst complying with pub-lished performance standards.
• Ensure a high degree of customer service, attentiveness, speed, and control error rates, whilst maintaining consistency in service standards.
• Inspect, validate against relevant documentation and count goods at every point of delivery, acceptance, breakdown and build-up ensuring that goods conform to relevant criteria and that they are dispatched / stored in accordance with standard work procedures and require-ments.
• Perform manual and automated data input. Ensure data updates into relevant cargo systems are done accurately, are verified and completed within time standards.
• Liaise with government authorities such as Customs, Municipality, Health or Police in an ef-ficient and effective manner to ensure the smooth movement of all cargo, courier and mail.
• Ensure at all times that the handling of all special cargo (dangerous goods, live animals, val-uable goods etc.) fully complies with the current edition of the IATA manuals and are load-ed in accordance with the same.
