Heading the Production operations from Raw material Stores, Hot end till Cutting operations for Float Glass.
As Deputy Head- Float line/ Team Leader- Hot-End: Since Jul’ 05
Steering diverse initiatives towards accomplishment of organizational goals & vision with chief responsibilities pertaining to the overall execution of the Production, Quality & Plant Operations.
Role:
Steered entire production activities for the two departments of Batch plant & Furnace, Float bath & Annealing for the 600 Ton/Day Plant to be on par with Best Manufacturing Systems around the World.
Currently looking after job responsibilities like;
o Production Improvement Plans and Implementation.
o Productivity Improvement by Time Study, Motion Study, Low Cost Automation.
• Instrumental in achieving Productivity Rise.
• Ensuring Quality Assurance and Product Reliability.
• Increasing machine up time & reducing down time.
Managing the entire production line including Cutting & Packing department in the absence of the Team Leader - Float line.
Delivering the right quantity of target thicknesses in the tin bath and lehr with the requisite quality as required by the Customer.
Analysing and documenting all process data.
Proficient in handling the technical collaboration, maintaining & preparing feasibility reports on the new products of colour glass.
Attainments:
Award of Excellence for Energy saving in Saint-Gobain Glass in 2004.
Conferred with an award for meritorious service in Saint-Gobain Glass in 2007.
Received 2 Business Awards for outstanding service in Saint-Gobain glass in 2008.
Received Annual Excellence Award for Energy reduction in Saint-Gobain glass in 2009.
Implemented the ISO 9000, 14000, 18000 systems.
Successfully reduced the transition time between the colour runs.
Role:
Generating feasibility reports on the new products of colour glass.
Planning and controlling the colour campaigns.
Attainments:
Developed local vendors for cost effective import of spares and equipments.
Holds the distinction of being awarded for reducing Energy consumption in the Furnace resulting in cost saving of Rs. 1 Crores per annum.
Dexterously implemented various improvement projects to enhance production yield & operation safety.
Exposure to Global Conferences in Europe for the functional department.
As Team Leader - Shift Jun’ 98
Role:
Leading a work force of over 70 personnel and company staff of 25 including 2 functional engineers for delivering the targets as decided in the Annual goals for the entire manufacturing line.
Attainments:
Spearheaded cost reduction initiatives through reduction in manpower.
Received various awards for highest yield with minimum accidents amongst all teams.
Implemented various improvement projects to enhance production yield and operation safety.
As Team Member - Float Bath and Annealing
Role:
Trained in various European Float Glass manufacturing facilities for a long period.
Attainments:
Established the new parameters for producing different products after the start-up of the line.
The World leading Japanese multi-national organisation in the field of Flat glass manufacturing.
Role:
Heading and Managing the Float Bath and Annealing Lehr department.
Heading and Managing the Batch Plant and Furnace department.
Managing a team of 34 personnel for achieving the organizational targets.
Periodically worked as Shift Engineer / Shift in Charge while managing a work force of over 60 personnel and company staff of 23 including 2 functional foremen.
Trained in a Float Glass manufacturing facility in the far-East.
Achieved cost savings through a reduction in energy consumption in the furnace.
The Indian Leader in Sheet Glass manufacturing organization of the time
Role:
Responsible for the Melting, Drawing and Cutting departments in the shift.
The company is into manufacturing of Ceramic wall and floor tiles with Italian technology.
Role:
Heading the Raw material, Mixing, Slip House and Drying sections.
Gained exposure in construction and commissioning of the plant.
Awarded 3rd Prize for Project work in the Management Development Programme from IIM, Bangalore Received the Best Participant Award in the EPP programme mentioned above.
