Project Details:
Working on Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning module of SAP APO for the largest cigarette manufacturing company
Project Details:
•Customised Capacity levelling project: Role - Co-ordinator as a functional consultant
Project background: Capacity Levelling needed to be customised for Eastern Europe region.
•The planner needed to see the volume equivalent for the available capacity and resource consumption (in millions of cigarettes).
•Also they wanted to see the projected stock (per product and total) and also the projected stock duration (per product and total).
•Requirement was for a new sort method for capacity heuristics which is balanced, the orders would be levelled when sorted by order size in the ratio of the order size of the products.
•If no levelling was possible in forward or backward direction then the order would stay back in initial bucket.
•Grouping or ungrouping the planning buckets from weekly to monthly and vice versa and also use split weekly buckets

Activities performed
•Gather requirements from the planning and project managers (client side)
•Online/call meeting for the requirement gathering
•Creation of functional specification, estimation and test plan development
•Conversion of the requirement for technical specification development and provide requirement to the developer
•Transport to quality and then production, unit testing, QA testing, user acceptance testing, cut-over list creation

Scope of the change
New BAdIs, macros, planning books, keyfigures, Capacity Levelling BAdI development, fiscal year variant, time bucket profile using fiscal year variant

•Resource Based Planning: Role - Co-ordinator as a functional consultant
Project background: For other tobacco products being ‘A’ category items, needed to be levelled by factory planner and then the availability was checked by MTP planners. All planning were done in weekly view. New planning books were generated for this and new heuristics method (BAdI method) created where master production plans were created by restricting productions on certain weeks according to factory planning.
New alerts generated for sending of mail when levelling was done by factory planners. CIF queues were blocked for factory planners and could be processed only by MTP Planners.

•Enhancement for CIF queue: Changes to CIF user exit for customised order types and for aggregation of stocks
•New market setup: Gibraltar, Montenegro, Belarus
Other responsibilities: To help the junior members in the team to understand the client requirement
Daily meeting with the governance and planners to understand their requirement
Come up with new suggestions to improve the existing processes
