Functions -
Finance & Accounts : In-charge of Managing Finance & Accounts of the Group Holding Co.
Budgeting Detailed extensive budgeting & monitoring thereof vis-a-vis actuals of the
Group Holding Co.; variance analysis cost-centre-wise & implementing
corrective actions
Treasury Developing, planning & programming tools to meet the Long-Term & Short-
Term Cash Management for the Group Holding Co.; suggesting to Group
Chairman of investment avenues of surplus funds, simultaneously ensuring
minimum liquidity position at both Corporate as well as at Group Cos.’ level
to minimise borrowing costs
Consolidation Consolidation of Group Audited Financials in computerized environment as
per IFRS
Audit Central coordinating point for statutory audit of the entire Group;
UAE Corporate Tax Central coordinating point for UAE Corporate Tax of the all Group Entities
MIS & Budgets Analysis of MIS & Budgets of Group Cos. of diverse business backgrounds;
Board Meetings Attending Board Meetings of Group Cos. in Retail, Real Estate, Construction,
Hospitality & Manufacturing Industries for contribution from Accounts &
Finance perspective;
VAT Spearheading the VAT Implementation procedures for all the Group Cos.
Insurance Central coordinating point for all Insurance aspects of all the Group Cos.;
Ensuring adequacy of Insurance coverage for the group, coordinating with
Insurance Brokers for the Policy renewal terms, reviewing quotes obtained
for the renewal & awarding Insurance contract
New Ventures Feasibility studies of new business proposals & financial projections
preparation - viz., salon business, coffee shop business, events management
business, etc.;
Bank Finance Arranging of bank finance for new branded salon business
Confidential Report Preparation of confidential reports (based on requirements of Group
Family Office Attending to entire financial & confidential subjects of Group Chairman & all his family members;
Internal Controls Designing & implementing systems, policies & procedures to ensure internal financial controls
HR & PR Officiated for 3 years as Head of HR dept., led a team of 3 HR Personnel (aggregate staff strength: 197); Designing & producing of Group HR Manual after 12 years
Internal Audit Officiated for 7 months as the Head of the Group Internal Audit dept., led a team of 3 Chartered Accountants; Formulation and implementation of Internal Audit Plan to ensure adequate coverage of the Group’s business activities in line with group mission & vision

Sharaf Group UAE comprises of over 60 operating companies in Shipping & Logistics, Garments &

Joined as Head Finance & Accounts of Sharaf Garments Retail with renowned brands like Forever 21, Woolworths, Sanrio (Hello Kitty), Cotton On, etc. &. Operations in 12 countries - GCC, Jordan, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. Was reporting to the CEO & Executive Director and leading a team of 20 members.
Accounting overall responsibility of management accounts preparation of the 12 countries, including annual statutory audit and consolidation of accounts
Financing negotiation with banks for term loan (capital expenditure) and working capital facilities & structuring them to suit the business requirements (secured SGD 3.15 mn loan from HSBC Bank, Singapore and THB 40 mn loan from HSBC Bank, Bangkok)
Budgeting introducing for the first time the concept of month-wise & shop-wise profitability budgeting tools; preparation of month-wise projected cash budget of all 12 countries’ operations
MIS overall responsibility of monthly MIS preparation of around 70 stores across 12 countries as per deadlines and analysis of variances and generating exception reports
Tax Planning implementing effective tax management tools, resulting in corporate tax savings in South East Asian countries & Indian operations
Payroll overall responsibility of rolling out accurate & timely payroll (size 1, 000+ employees) within month-end
HR being part of HR Manual drafting committee (along with HR Director of Retail Group), engaged in designing of a detailed HR manual
New Ventures extensive involvement in setting up of operations in new & existing countries, viz., Russia, Lebanon & KSA
Logistics overall responsibility of Logistics functions in all 12 countries, detailed analysis of vendors’ Standard Operating Manuals, and negotiation with 3rd Party Logistics vendors for overall cost reduction
Others successfully recovering over AED 500, 000 worth of old outstanding security deposit lying with Mall Management(s)

Accounting reduction in the lead time of generation of annual accounts for statutory audit from 8 months to 2 ½ months from the financial year-end
Financing successful negotiation with new banks for working capital facilities & structuring them to suit the business requirements; arranging for USD 15 mn loan from Standard Chartered Bank, Dubai
Budgeting introducing for the first time in the Group the concept of month-wise & shop-wise profitability budgeting tools; preparation of month-wise projected cash budget
MIS introducing the practice of tracking of actual month-wise shop-wise profitability against budgets, analysis of variances and generating reports by exception
Payroll streamlining operations therein and enabling to roll out accurate and timely payroll within month-end
Accounting Manual designing & preparation of detailed Accounting Manual for the Group’s accounting activities; streamlining the activities flow, achieving significant reduction in generation time and increase in accuracy level of accounting reports
HR designing of, at the request of the Group HR Head, a detailed HR manual for the Group for publishing by the corporate HR dept.
Cost Reduction negotiating with banks in reducing the cr card commission rates and generating annual savings of approx. AED 0.47 mn
