HISTOPATHOLOGY: I have very good expertise in reporting histopathological investigations independently. I am also on duty to perform clinical autopsy in the affiliated hospitals of this institution. I have conducted many clinical post-mortems and also taught the Post graduate students.
CYTOLOGY: I perform fine needle aspiration on patients and report the same. I have a very good experience in performing FNA and reporting the same.
CLINICAL PATHOLOGY: I also work in our clinical laboratory where I am in independent charge of reporting both peripheral smears as well as the management of laboratory services.
I have also worked in the Blood Bank. During this period, I have conducted many blood donation camps. I am also responsible for screening of blood samples for HIV, HbsAg, Malaria and other blood borne diseases.
TYPES OF HOSPITALS WORKED: Pathology department of Kasturba Medical College receives biopsies from its affiliated hospitals Kasturba Medical College Hospitals, Attavar and Kasturba Medical College Hospitals, Ambedkar Circle. And also from various Private Hospitals of Mangalore town. FNA Cytology is done in outpatient department and in ward by Pathologist. I have vast experience in reporting histopathology slides as well as cytology slides.
Whenever called upon I used to perform clinical autopsies in the above mentioned hospitals. Worked as Consultant Pathologist in Sri Divya Diagnostic Lab, Hassan, India. During this period i had gained Vast experience in Histopathology, Clinical Pathology, Biochemistry and Microbiology.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE: I started my teaching carrier as lecturer in Pathology in Kasturba Medical College in Feb 1992 and after promotion now I am an Additional Professor and have fourteen years of teaching experience. I teach M.B.B.S., B.D.S and M.D Pathology student.
I am a dissertation guide for 3 Post Graduate ( M. D. ) students. I am internal Examiner for M.B.B.S and B.D.S. Students for M A H E university and External Examiner for three other universities viz. Medical universities of State of Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Kerala in India.
WORK EXPERIENCE IN UAE. I have worked as Specialist Clinical Pathology in Clinical Laboratory, National Hospital, Abu Dhabi . I am also In Charge of the Laboratory, managing Haematology, and Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microscopy and Microbiology sections. I have very good expertise in all these sections. I also participated in Quality control programmes. I have attended CMEs and Conferences regularly to improve my knowledge. I have attended a course in internal ISO audit and passed the exam. Under my leadership National Hospital has passed the ISO 15189:2012 Audit and is accredited. I have expertise in ISO 15189:2012 Documentation.
