I have been the Technical Officer-in-Charge of Neutron Physics Laboratory of the Department of Physics, University of Peradeniya since 1995. I am engaged in the work of Preparation and Demonstration of under mentioned Nuclear related practicals and experiments to B.Sc. and M.Sc. students

1. Maintenance of the Neutron Sources (10Ci Americium Berillium and 50mCi Califonium) and other gamma sources. (Co60, Cs137, Na22, Ra226, Hg105, etc).
2. Maintenance of the Nuclear Instruments such as Nuclear Counters, Timers, Scalers, Pre Amps, Discriminators, etc. and Multichanel Analyzer data Acquasitiuon system.
3. Regular check up of Neutron Flux leakage, contingence with the Atomoc Energy Authority regulations.
4. Sample preparation for the practical classes.
5. Repairing of Nuclear Modules and Detectors such as Propotional Counters, Scintillation counters etc.
6. Collecting Nuclear Physics, Radiation and other relevant data and Catalogues from Internet to develop Neutron Physics Laboratory.
Technical Officer-in-Charge of X-Ray Fluorescence Laboratory (XRF)
1. Preparation and Demonstration of XRF practical and experiments to B.Sc. & M.Sc. students using XRF and Optical Polarizing Microscope.
2. Determination of Trace elements in solid, liquid samples, requested by research and commercial Institutes using XRF and Optical Polarizing Microscope.
3. Determination Surface thicknesses, roughness, particle sizes and other major factures in solid, liquid samples, requested by research and commercial Institutes using Atomic Force Microscope
