Responsible for managing two operating plants, with a full complement of staff (engineers, operations specialists, and operators)
Responsible for managing compliance to ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, as well as RC requirements
Responsible for managing cost effective production, by controlling fixed and variable costs
Manage an operations team and 3 plants that produce a range of alcohols and carbonyl products, in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO14001, and ISO 18001
Responsible for preparing fixed and variable cost budgets, as well capital budgets
Responsible for turnaround planning and execution
Responsible for interacting with planning, logistics, and marketing to ensure production targets meet market requirements
Daily tasks include producion monitoring, plant optimisation and troubleshooting, plant de-bottlenecking, conducting plant audits, RCA's, plant simulations, PSV sizing, and conducting mass and energy balances. Duties also include providing guidance to trainee engineers
As a Design Engineer, I was involved in the concept, basic and detail design of certain gas systems. My duties involved obtianing client requiremetns, drawing up Functioanl Flow Block Diagrams, to preparing PFD's, MFD's, establishing the control philosophy, preparing operating procedures, reviewing piping and valve data sheets, planning plant layout, equipment sizing and interfaces, and preparing the relevant documents. I was also involved in the procurement process.
