* Member of "National Broadband Network Project" team at the NOC, to manage a private fiber optic network of all SGN entities and schools.
* Participate in the design, development, planning, implementation, evaluation, operation and maintenance of core network services, performance, policies, objectives, and resolution problem.
- Associate in design the Fiber topology, SONET layer, and VLAN and MPLS architecture. Cisco7600 routers and 2950, 3500 catalyst switches were used for the layer 2/3 switching and routing for extremely large and complex MPLS with wide BGP and OSPF network.
- Support customer connection/expansion, upgrade and monitoring of the communications equipment and fiber optic infrastructure including network capacity checks, ensuring suitability of customer's CPE and installation, testing and commissioning of Ethernet, SDH and DWDM cards.
- Support the configuration, upgrade, maintenance and day to day management of the Communications Network Management and Element Management systems.
- Support in maintaining the integrity of the aggregation room ensuring security, power supplies, UPS, fire protection and suppression and air conditioning systems are maintained and operational.
- Provide out of hours standby cover to customers in fault situations.
* Responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient execution of all operational processes
* Monitor, measure, and improve the quality of NOC support.
* Ensures a seamless and effective service provider and customer experience by defending fundamental processes and tools that ensure consistent and predictable outcomes within defined quality tolerance
* Working knowledge of Enterprise NMS Cisco Works and trouble ticketing applications
* Developing and implementing detailed cross-functional core network strategies and action plan in line with high level corporate, business and product and services strategies and objectives.
