.FINANCE & TREASURY:
1. Group financing under working capital and long term loans.
2. Treasury management of the group which includes forward dollar sales, foreign currency financing arrangements, investment of surplus funds of the group and derivative transactions etc.
3. Supervising the export documentations and monitoring the logistics function for exports and imports.
ACCOUNTS
1. Preparation of monthly management accounts for top management review.
2. Preparation of Quarterly, bi-annually and annual final accounts of the company as per Internal Accounting standards \[IAS\] & International Financial reporting standards \[IFRS\].
3. Coordinate with Company’s statutory auditors in finalizing bi-annual & annual audits.
4. To advise management on various accounting, taxation & technical issues relating to adoption & implementation of IFRS & IAS.
TAXATION & SECRETARIAL WORK:
1. Ensure that Company is fully in Compliance of all tax related regulations applicable to the Company.
2. Responsible for supervision of preparation and filing of all tax related statements and returns within stipulated timelines. Ensuring that all these returns are reconciled with accounting record.
3. Supervision of preparation and filing of Sales tax and excise duty returns
4. Replies to queries of Tax Authorities and engage Tax Consultant wherever necessary
5. Advise in Long-term tax planning to minimize tax costs of the Company.
6. Tax Support to all Employees, Suppliers & Customers.
7. Corporate secretarial work relating to SECP and stock exchange regulations.
BUDGETING & CONTROL:
1. Preparation & Implementation of annual corporate budgets, cost control efforts and bench marking performance standards.
2. Supervising the internal audit function of the group.
3. Supervising the IT function of the group, make improvements in the existing software and manage new developments.
>Management of funds and Treasury function;
1. To ensure sufficient liquidity to pay off vendors & other creditors on timely basis.
2. To manage & arrange funds to settle Letter of credits & other international principal commitments.
3. To arrange and manage bank overdraft & LC lines to bridge the cash flow gap and keeping interest & other cost to minimum level.
4. To conduct weekly meetings with Sales & Marketing dept to review aging of debtors for early collections.
5. To keep inventory levels within budgetary levels and ensure stocks do not get aged lying in warehouses.
6. To monitor over all working capital cycle.
>Budgeting & Planning;
1. To develop annual corporate budgets and get necessary approvals from the management board.
2. To ensure budgetary norms are adhered to and report any deviations to the board on quarterly basis.
3. Analyze and report Actual vs Budget positions on Expenses, P&L and working capital to the board.
>Costing & Controls:
1. To analyze the cost & production reports to ensure effective utilization of resources.
2. To assist production director in costing of products and other cost controls.
3. To assist Sales director in preparing pricing strategies of various products.
4. To ensure effective corporate governance by implementing company policies & procedures.
>Accounting & MIS;
1. To present P&L account and Balance sheet to the board on monthly basis.
2. To provide various information & reports to the Sales & Production departments to analyze their performance.
3. To provide Actual vs Budget reports to the management on regular basis.
4. To assist corporate & internal auditors in performance of their duties.
The company was a license holder from the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA), for providing pay phone telephony services. I worked there as Manager Accounts. My prime responsibilities included;
•Preparation of monthly/annually management as well as statutory accounts.
•Dealing with banks and leasing companies and other administrative aspects of accounts department.
