Job Responsibilities:
• Configures, installs, and connects hardware so that users will be able to perform business activities includes setting-up printers, hubs, local area network servers.
• Reconfigures and reinstalls operating systems and other security systems according to established policies and procedures.
• Disables and erases all licensed software (except legal demo copies) which has not been legally purchased by Company.
• Promptly posts all vendor-supplied patches and fixes to operating systems.
• Upgrades systems software as needed to ensure secure, reliable, and stable operation of servers and related equipment.
• Maintains in a safe place an inventory of the original installation disks, CDs, and other data storage media for licensed software used on the systems.
• Issues user-IDs and fixed passwords, or other access control mechanisms.
• Configures and maintains access control systems so that users can access only those machines, software, and information which are needed to perform their jobs.
• Faithfully follows established procedures for all changes to access control systems and documents all such changes so that problems may be quickly resolved.
• Securely preserves all records indicating changes made to access control lists to facilitate investigations, disciplinary actions, and prosecutions.
• Monitors electronic mail and other data communications sent over Company network to determine that these communications are fully consistent with Company policies.
• Periodically reviews access control system logs and reports to ensure that the system is working properly and that no unauthorized activity is taking place
