• Design and develop contingency plans and systems which offer sustained support to operability of all machine at all times.
• Perform a variety of routine and complex tasks associated with the installation service and calibration of a diverse range of biomedical equipment instrumentation
• Assist in the support of a systematic preventive maintenance program for biomedical equipment instrumentation which may include entry into computerized maintenance management system.
• Install qualify maintain service modify troubleshoot safety test & calibrate a variety of biomedical equipment and instrumentation by interpreting engineering and vendor information schematic diagrams graphic illustrations.
• Diagnose and correct system or equipment malfunctions by repairing or replacing parts to make sure that biomedical equipment internal circuitry meets specified requirements; make necessary calculations for computing circuit elements necessary to adjust circuitry to specified requirements as instructed.
• Provide technical assistance and instruction to personnel in the operation and maintenance of equipment; provide recommendations regarding purchase of biomedical equipment instrumentation.
• Inspect and installs medical & related technical equipment in medical research facilities for use by physicians, nurses, scientists, or engineers involved in researching, monitoring, diagnosing and treating physical ailments or dysfunctions.
• Service various equipment & apparatus, like patient monitors, electrocardiographs, blood-gas analyzers, x-ray units, defibrillators, electrosurgical units, anesthesia apparatus, pacemakers, blood-pressure transducers, spirometers, sterilizers, diathermy equipment, patient-care computers, other related technical paraphernalia.
• Repair, calibrates, and maintains equipment, using handtools, power tools, measuring devices, and knowledge of manufacturers manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and preventive-maintenance schedules.
• Safety-tests medical equipment and health-care facilitys structural environment to make sure patient staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards.
• Consult with medical or research staff to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely, utilizing knowledge of electronics, medical terminology, human anatomy physiology, chemistry, and physics.
• Demonstrate and explain correct operation of equipment to medical personnel and also modify or develop instruments or devices as per the requirements.
• Meet departmental performance indicator standards on a consistent basis.
• Maintain accurate timely documentation on Asset management system.
Managing medical device recalls and ECRI alerts including disaster preparedness and safety issues.
• Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnose and testing of all electronics / medical equipments including life saving electronic machines.
• Regularly plan, monitor, research, diagnose, maintain and evaluate medical equipments.
