Expediting of purchase orders and co-ordination with overseas suppliers at various stages for timely readiness of material, documentation, T.P Inspection, its collection and choosing the best mode of shipment in consultation with procurement/ project team.
Liaison between the freight forwarder and government departments (Chamber of Commerce, Customs, Ministry of environment, Civil Defense, etc.) for licenses, import permission etc. to ensure availability of the imported material on time at site and seamless export of material on permanent or temporary basis
TA/Shutdown and Construction Projects:
Finalization and Monitoring of various freight & fleet management contracts and certification of payments.
Made Transportation arrangement of 8000+ employees during TA/shutdowns.
Round the clock Transportation of all workman & staff from camps, their residences to project site.
Around 150+ vehicles & heavy equipment handled during shutdown.
Proper planning of all vehicles and heavy equipment to avoid downtime.
Management & supervision of 10 Logistics coordinators, 300+ vehicle drivers and Heavy equipment operators.
To carry out vehicle inspection as required by PDO, ORPIC & Other organizations.
To make gate passes and journey plan for vehicle entry in the refinery.
Arrangement of 3rd party certificates for heavy equipment operators whenever required.
Arrangement of local country licenses for vehicle drivers and their timely renewals.
To make transportation arrangements for workmen medical and Training programs.
Shifting of material, tools & tackles as required by shutdown & construction team.
Coordination with client for smooth logistics operation.
Coordination with Shutdown Manager, Superintendents, Engineers for any logistics support during shutdown work.
Excellent experience in handling Heavy equipments like Crane, JCB, Forklifts, Trailers, Boom trucks, etc.
Transportation of Vehicles like Trucks, Buses, Minibuses, pickups, cars etc.
To make arrangement of fuel such as Diesel/gasoline for operation of vehicles.
Mobilization & Demobilization arrangements of employees.
To make arrangement of customs clearance of Cargo from Seaport, Airport, Border Customs and its timely delivery to project site.
Review existing policies and procedures and recommend amendments to address current needs and ensure adequate controls are in place.
Closely liaise with Customs and other Government agencies to recover deposits, claims, negotiate on demurrages, fines, penalties etc.
Co-ordination with various in-house departments for smooth functioning of the project.
Responsible for ensuring that all activities are carried out in compliance with company’s Occupational Health, Safety and
Environment procedures.
Responsible for identifying and filing of insurance claim for damage of cargo during transit and its settlement.
Making frequent visit at project sites, airport, seaport and border customs for a through supervision of the function, quality of display, illumination and resolving the complaints (if any)
Research and implementation of initiatives for cost reduction and wastage.
Responsible for providing data for management information system by making monthly import-export and local dispatch reports.
