Emirates Precision Industries is the only company in the GCC, handles precision parts manufacturing, involved in producing Pistols’ and Aircrafts ‘parts serving to the Defence and Aerospace industries (AIRBUS, France) It has a planned turnover around 30m USD per annum. I was appointed to analyse and evaluate the feasibility of AIR BUS parts’ manufacturing in UAE, a Project of $220m. I have worked very closely with the experts from AIRBUS France and the consultants to analyse the projects viability.

Alghanim Industries is a leading group of industries in the GCC, head office is operated from Kuwait. It has over a billion dollar turnover per annum, consisting of over 15 major businesses, more than 5000 employees, operating in various parts of the world.



I was associated with one of their major businesses, Automotive Operations, as a Manager Accounts and Controls. Alghanim Automotive is a representative of GM Motors USA in Kuwait and having annual turnover 400m US Dollars. I was involved in handling fourteen
(14) Automotive linked business, based on individual cost centres. Results of all these businesses were prepared and reported individually to the top management, using EVA based profit analysis. One of the responsibilities I was handling is a constant review of effectiveness of controls and processes and its redesigning and implementation as per the requirement of businesses.

Worked closely with the corporate controller and interacted very closely with other businesses, specifically Industrial Group (KIRBY & KIMMCO) to set up the Alghanim Shared Services Centre (SSC), with Vertical based accounting system.

Key Tasks
Supervision of Monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly and Annual Financial Statements as per the requirements of the statutes, IAS and the IFRS, Profitability analysed on EVA basis.
Designed and implemented effective Internal Controls, suit to company’s need and their constant reviews.
Carried out the COSO mapping of the processes of the Company
Worked as a compliance head in SSC to oversee the payment process, in line with the organizations policies and procedures.
Prepared budget for Shared Services Centre, a charge back model
Prepared and presented Finance Manual, selected topics and involved in Review of the complete manual, in accordance with IFRS
Supervision of Treasury back office activities, coordination among business units and Treasury Department. Performed monthly forecasting for funds planning, for Businesses.
Well acquainted of Negotiable/ Bank instruments and their procedures.
Coordinated with External and Internal Auditors to satisfy their requirement
Hackett Finance Benchmarking Study: Provided information in the Hackett Finance Benchmarking Study conducted across Alghanim Industries for the Automotive businesses.
Hyperion reporting system: Involved in the finalization and mapping of Business unit Chart of accounts to Group Chart of accounts. Reviews of financials for respective legal entities in Hyperion from 1st Jan 2008.
Analyse the activities, transited to Shared Services Centre (SSC) and remained with Control and Finance groups
Reviewed and finalized the Incentive plans/schemes for Sales & Marketing and Production department
Form & lead the Accounting team for Process migration into SSC.
Documentation of all procedures and create the knowledge repository for SSC.
Highlight and resolve process issues with Quality Team and Controllers of respective Business units. Standardization of processes, Improvement of Cycle time in processing of documents.
Review the State of the Financials of the Businesses, prior to migrating to SSC, with the perspective of Process Verticals.
Involved in the preparation of Service Level Agreements and obtain the concurrence of Operations team at the business.
