Star Services is involved in CATERING and Restaurant businesses; Star services is serving to the UAE and Qatar Market and having a volume of around 50m USD, KHAZAN Qatar is a water factory, having a turnover of around $25m, the companies represent Al MEZZAN Group of Kuwait. I am involved in the following functions.

Involved in Management discussions, for the suitability of the Operational activities, closely working with the GM providing support.
Oversee the Finance, Accounting, cost accounting functions.
Overall review of the compliance and Controls related functions, policies, procedures and its modification suits to the company.
Preparation of the Budget and the business plan.

Reporting to the Group CFO and MD
As the company was at its initial stages, primary tasks I performed are highlighted below. Glass Wool industry (EGW) is engaged in manufacturing of Insulation material for residential, commercial and industrial buildings products. Planned Annual turnover is over 120m dirham.

Key Tasks
Overall review of the core and supporting departments’ functions and performed the Gap analysis to make the departments efficiency at optimum level.
Overall review and formulation of Marketing and sales strategies as per the required situation.
Performed SWOT analysis, reviewed and finalization of Annual Business Plan
Reviewed and performed procurement planning
Reviewed and advised the feasibility of all major contracts.
Dealt with major machinery suppliers.
Over all developed and implemented Policies and Procedures, established control environment.
Oversee the Finance, Accounting and cost accounting function, as detailed in the other jobs, a constant review of the project’s cost, in comparison with the Budget and translate the information to the top management.

Reporting to the Group CFO and CEO
Emirates Precision Industries is the only company in the GCC, handles precision parts manufacturing, involved in producing Pistols’ and Aircrafts ‘parts serving to the Defence and Aerospace industries (AIRBUS, France) It has a planned turnover around 30m USD per annum. I was appointed to analyse and evaluate the feasibility of AIR BUS parts’ manufacturing in UAE, a Project of $220m. I have worked very closely with the experts from AIRBUS France and the consultants to analyse the projects viability.

Alghanim Industries is a leading group of industries in the GCC, head office is operated from Kuwait. It has over a billion dollar turnover per annum, consisting of over 15 major businesses, more than 5000 employees, operating in various parts of the world.



I was associated with one of their major businesses, Automotive Operations, as a Manager Accounts and Controls. Alghanim Automotive is a representative of GM Motors USA in Kuwait and having annual turnover 400m US Dollars. I was involved in handling fourteen
(14) Automotive linked business, based on individual cost centres. Results of all these businesses were prepared and reported individually to the top management, using EVA based profit analysis. One of the responsibilities I was handling is a constant review of effectiveness of controls and processes and its redesigning and implementation as per the requirement of businesses.

Worked closely with the corporate controller and interacted very closely with other businesses, specifically Industrial Group (KIRBY & KIMMCO) to set up the Alghanim Shared Services Centre (SSC), with Vertical based accounting system.

Key Tasks
Supervision of Monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly and Annual Financial Statements as per the requirements of the statutes, IAS and the IFRS, Profitability analysed on EVA basis.
Designed and implemented effective Internal Controls, suit to company’s need and their constant reviews.
Carried out the COSO mapping of the processes of the Company
Worked as a compliance head in SSC to oversee the payment process, in line with the organizations policies and procedures.
Prepared budget for Shared Services Centre, a charge back model
Prepared and presented Finance Manual, selected topics and involved in Review of the complete manual, in accordance with IFRS
Supervision of Treasury back office activities, coordination among business units and Treasury Department. Performed monthly forecasting for funds planning, for Businesses.

Hackett Finance Benchmarking Study: Provided information in the Hackett Finance Benchmarking Study conducted across Alghanim Industries for the Automotive businesses.
Hyperion reporting system: Involved in the finalization and mapping of Business unit Chart of accounts to Group Chart of accounts. Reviews of financials for respective legal entities in Hyperion from 1st Jan 2008.
Analyse the activities, transited to Shared Services Centre (SSC) and remained with Control and Finance groups
Reviewed and finalized the Incentive plans/schemes for Sales & Marketing and Production department
Form & lead the Accounting team for Process migration into SSC.
Documentation of all procedures and create the knowledge repository for SSC.
Highlight and resolve process issues with Quality Team and Controllers of respective Business units. Standardization of processes, Improvement of Cycle time in processing of documents.
Review the State of the Financials of the Businesses, prior to migrating to SSC, with the perspective of Process Verticals.
Involved in the preparation of Service Level Agreements and obtain the concurrence of Operations team at the business.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Board of Directors and the Chairman
A public Ltd. Company listed at Muscat Securities Market. It is also a Licensee of American & Efird Inc. a leading Thread Manufacturer in the United States, having more 5 million US dollars per annum.

Key Tasks
Designing & reviewing the M.I.S. and interpreting them to the Top Management. Also involved in the decision making with the top Management.
Preparation of Operational and Financial Budget including the cash flows and analyse the results periodically.

Involved in preparation of Feasibility Study Reports for the development and diversification of Business, managing value added solution through application of alternative financial plans.
Handled the Secretarial work of the Company i.e. Managed BOD and General Meetings, minutes, notices and the filing requirements.
Managed financial reporting, monthly, and quarterly and Annual Supervision of the preparation of Monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly and Annual Financial Statements as per the requirements of the statutes, IAS and IFRS.
Designed and implemented effective Internal Controls, suit to company’s need and its constant review. Reviews of the related periodical reports and the quantitative reconciliation.
Controlling the Bank’s transactions involved in import and export procedures and experience of negotiation of local and foreign letters of credit and reviewing the periodical Bank reconciliation.
Coordinated with Internal Auditors on quarterly basis for each quarterly audits and responsible for responses to the Audit Committee.
Involved in Capital Restructuring of the Company and the rights issue procedures e.g. the preparation of the prospectus, liaison with the statutory authorities etc.
Negotiating new credit line(s) and financial facilities with Commercial Banks and with other Financial Institutions, restructuring the facilities as per the prevailing financial needs.
Performed as the Management Representative for the ISO Quality management system.
Dealt with External Auditors and meeting their requirements.
