Modeling the structures in ETABS along with all the load combination including
the Seismic & Wind load factors as per the code IBC-2009.
* Safe design of columns by ETABS taking into account Earthquake, Wind & as per
the architectural requirements.
* Analysis & design of slabs & footings in SAFE and calculating Punch, Deflection
& the required reinforcement for the slab (main mesh, extra top & bottom).
* Calculating the flexure & shear reinforcement for beams using PROKON.
* Analysis & design of Water tanks, holding tanks & all other underground tanks
subjected to Soil pressure using SAP.
* Providing sections and reinforcement details for all the structural elements in
AUTOCAD.
* To review the shop drawings submittals from the contractor and give approvals.
* Co-ordination with other departments (Architectures & M.E.P) to agree on safe
designs to fit with their aesthetic concept of the construction.
* Site visit at the time of concrete and steel check for the ongoing projects.
Supervision Responsibilities (as a Civil inspector)
* Review of materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples,
specifications, details, plans and standard practice. Report findings to Resident
Engineer.
* Observe work in progress to ensure procedures are followed and materials used
confirm to specifications. Report to Resident Engineer on any variations or
concerns
* Site instructions (SI) to Contractor notifying of any defects.
* Review and report on Contractor method statement.
* Coordinate with the Resident Engineer to check the submittals and shop drawings.
* Complete daily and monthly progress reports.
* Observe and inspect site safety practices and the progress of the work, reporting
on any concerns to the Resident Engineer.
* Attending to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and take
appropriate action in a timely manner.
* Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications,
local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice.
* Report any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with
approved drawing and specifications and report to stakeholders for appropriate
action.
* Maintain records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure
they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
* Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non
conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events.
* Prepare site observation report (SOR) and ensure effective co-ordination between
disciplines related works and all other disciplines.
* Provide technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on
site that may arise.
