• Experience with Domestic, Industrial & Commercial Metering programming, field installations and commissioning of utility electricity smart meters with AMI connectivity (including ISKRA, EDMI, Elster and Secure smart meters).
• Experience in installing smart meters and utility metering equipment, installation of residential products and commissioning of CT meters (single-rate tariff) and MD (time of use and half hourly) AMR and SMETS meters, energy monitoring solutions, control equipment, in-home displays, PAYG and utility IoT systems. I have working knowledge of engineering legislation including Electricity Grid Code Regulations and Distribution Code Regulations and performing metering works.
• Project engineering and project management expertise in utility metering projects within the project management department.
• Possesses a keen ability to analyse large data sets, use PowerBI data visualisation tools, conduct research and provide insights.
• Analysed metering circuits, carried out energy consumption and data analysis, ran statistical models and provided technical insights.
• Provided expert opinion in project planning, scheduling and execution and experienced in the end-to-end utility customer acquisition and operational processes from initial enquiry, project budgeting, acceptance of quotation, design, connection and enrolment.
• Utilised planning and scheduling methods such as critical path method (CPM) and program evaluation review technique (PERT).
• Developed of technical specifications and designs for prepaid meters prior to going to tender, in accordance with ISO/IEC/BS standards, evaluated tenders and provided review and evaluation of contractor capabilities.
• Provided high levels of technical support, performed the role of quality assurance inspector during field investigations and quality and compliance checks, carried out repairs and ensured regulatory compliance on metering circuits.
• Analysed metering circuits, carried out energy consumption and data analysis, and provided technical insight into decisions.
• Experienced in identifying training needs, development of training material and delivering technical training, remote field support, mentoring, health and safety inductions of field teams in the smart metering project by performing the role of a technical support engineer to domestic and I&C electric field engineers and technicians.
• Performed smart energy engineer role and installed CT meters (single-rate tariff) and MD (time-of use and half-hourly) meters, performed project engineering and management, including the entire project lifecycle work and metering industry.
• Developed technical specifications, working with meter original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) on factory acceptance tests (FATs), performing tests and records management processes, product and design support, development, customization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in troubleshooting and tackling engineering and technical challenges.
• Experienced in working with contractors coordinating project engineering work and ensuring safe metering installations compliant with technical specifications and electricity industry regulations.
