Pressure vessel design in accordance with ASME Section VIII Div. 1 using COMPRESS software for Oil and Gas and Petrochemical industries.

Preparation of data sheets, technical specifications, equipment lists, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, scope of works and review of vendor drawings.

Compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, API 650, API 653, Saudi Aramco Standards and Specifications, Shell DEP Standards, and SABIC standards.

Involved in administrative tasks including standardization of work process, discipline man-hour estimation and training coordination.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working as Mechanical Design Engineer in Descon Engineering my role includes the following.
 Prepare Design calculations of equipment for both FEED
and Detail Engineering Phase.
 Prepare and Review Engineering drawings
For both Static and Package Equipment.
 Responsible to take part as team member from
design department in ASME and Euro standards audit
in the facility.
 Mitigate all the fabrication constraints by
Providing economical design.
 As leading role in department, I lead team
Engineers and draughtsman to balance the
Work load
 Hands on experience acquired by working on
different projects of main EPC, Petrochemical, Oil and
gas companies in Pakistan and Middle East.

Responsibilities:
Working in Project and Engineering Services (P&ES) department mainly dealing with the projects having up-gradation or replacement of static equipment installed or to be installed in the SIPCHEM plant. Development of ITBs, FEED documents, preliminary design to invite vendors to provide engineering design and fabrication for the equipment to be purchased, technical evaluation of bids, Review of engineering design documents and drawings in both FEED and DETAIL Engineering phases and ensuring that that vendor must comply company’s obligatory engineering standards, and applied codes.

Expertise:
ASME BPVC codes, engineering standards for various industries, COMPRESS pressure vessel design software, PV-elite design software, AUTOCAD, Autodesk inventor, STAADPro and ANSYS.NDT techniques, fabrication methods and procedures.

Projects completed:

 IMC November Turnaround 2015.
Major turnaround has been started in the Nov 2015 in Methanol unit SIPCHEM to replace 10 static equipment (Boilers, Pressure vessels and Heat Exchangers) with new equipment having improved metallurgy, scope of this project under the domain of Mechanical Engineer covers scope study, preparation of ITB, development of preliminary design calculation for FEED stage. Reviewing of design calculations for their concurrence with ASME codes and SIPCHEM Standards, checking of GA and detail drawings and approving vendor documents for fabrication and transportation of equipment. Plant commissioning has already been started in early Dec 2015.

 Replacement of Salt Cooler in IDC plant (Diol plant-SIPCHEM affiliate).

 Replacement of NG Preheater in IDC plant (Diol plant-SIPCHEM affiliate).

 Replacement of Net Gas Bottom Scrubber in IGC plant (Gases plant- SIPCHEM affiliate).

 Replacement of Water Removal Column Condenser in IAC plant (Acetyl plant- SIPCHEM affiliate).

 Installation of two Carbonylation Reactors columns with increased 10% volume to in production in
IAC plant (Acetyl plant -SIPCHEM affiliate).

 FEED for the addition of Knock out skid at the inlet of propylene compressor for the removal of vapor at the inlet of compressor in IPC plant (Polymers plant - SIPCHEM affiliate).

Designing Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchanger and Storage Tanks, and Package Equipment according to ASME BPVC, API, British and Euro Codes which requires extensive manual and computer generated calculations performed on various software tools Such as COMPRESS, PV ELITE, and indigenous developed excel sheets and developing general arrangement and detail drawings on AutoCAD for fabrication. As a team lead, I am capable of managing the workload to be distributed on draftsmen and other junior engineers, checking final drawings and coordinate with Project Leaders and Project Engineers to resolve fabrication Issues and certain clarifications asked by the Client.

Worked there as a Trainee (Static and Rotary Equipment Maintenance Engineer )In SULPHUREX Plant in Detergent Unit of Colgate Palmolive Pakistan with several duties like Scheduling Shutdowns for Maintenance, Planning maintenance during Power breakdown, hands on Experience of Maintenance and Cleaning of Pumps, Motors, Piping, Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, ECPs, and Furnaces, ETC
