My experience in this company encompasses two phases as below:

IN 1ST. PHASE (IN HV SUBSTATION ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT):

Heading a team of Engineers providing Engineering support to Substation tendering department, involving; providing “Materials” and Man-hours” estimates, Tech. review comments on suppliers' offers, Compliance / Deviation statement and Bid comments, etc.

IN 2ND. PHASE, IN SUBSTATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT:

INITIALLY I WORKED AS PROJECT MANAGER WITH FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• For procurement of project related equipment & Materials floating enquiries to suppliers, receiving offers, making techno-commercial evaluations, placing orders, sending order confirmations, obtaining technical submittals, providing manufacturing / supply go-ahead, following up for delivery, etc.
• Managing, organizing, monitoring and controlling project progress, ensuring, they are going as per the Project milestones / schedule for various activities, like technical submissions, work completion etc.
• Getting approval from client / consultant of the completed work.
• Managing the changes and variations during project execution.
• Arranging sending invoices of the completed works and variation claims.
• Solving day to day issues at site.
• Ensuring Material Management so as to maintain production flow.
• Managing, monitoring, supervising and controlling affairs that could lead to “Risks”.
• Coordinating between Management, Construction team and Client / Consultant engineers.
• Representing company in Progress review meetings called by the client.
• Managing, organizing, monitoring & controlling all aspects in perspective of avoiding losses, mistakes and non-conformances and to further finding ways that could improve work efficiency during execution of the project.
• Ensuring the project is executed within targeted time and allocated budget, that conclude in happy & satisfied customers.


LATER ON I GOT ASSIGNED A TENDERING SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES AS FOLLOWS:

• Managing Tendering supports activities that included:
o Reviewing Tender docs and providing Bid/No-bid comment to the Sales and Management.
o Floating Enquiries to the "suppliers" & "sub-contractors" for the "products" & "services" falling in the Tender scope.
o Making comparative summary based on the receipted offers as described in (1.2 above), and including them into the "Cost estimation" of the Bid price.
o Coordinating and liaising with various internal departments for their inputs as required per the Tender requirements, e.g.
 - Performance bank guarantee
- OHS Department's comments on complying with the Tender OHS requirements.
 - Integrity & Compliance Dept.'s comments on compliance as per the Tender requirements.
 - Preparing the "List of Deviation" for inclusion in the Bid submittal.
 - Preparing the Bid submittal as per the Bid submission guidelines as described in the Tender requirements.

IN 2nd PHASE (Project Management responsibility):

Included the following:

• After obtaining an order, it was being handed over to the Projects Manager. In a “Projects Handover meeting” wherein my responsibility was to receive all “Projects input documents, correspondence with the client and Consultant (if applicable) and the “Order Freeze document” in particular. I was then preparing a “Minutes of the Meeting” and then distributing to the respective participants along with their actions as required from them to proceed with the order execution.
• Organizing, scheduling, coordinating and advising the various functions of the company the priority to be followed by each of them, so that the Projects delivery targets are met within the allocated company budget and consistent with the targeted Profit margin.

Making action plans, assigning target dates with the participants agreement. Documenting, circulating and following up same from the participant as per the decisions of the meeting.
• Preparing monthly and Quarterly Financial business report and submitting to the owner in Monthly and Quarterly “Board meetings”.
