During my time at King Khalid University (KKU), I was a member of the Research and Development Team of the IEOM Society International Student Chapter from 08/2022 to 08/2023, where I contributed to various research projects by conducting data analysis, performing literature reviews, and identifying industry trends. I collaborated with diverse teams and supported proposal development and technical report preparation, contributing to the successful execution of key projects. For my graduation project (08/2023 – 06/2024), titled “Improving Storage Performance Using Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS): A Case Study,” I designed a comprehensive logistics solution utilizing ASRS technology and applied a structured Product Design and Development framework to enhance customer satisfaction and enable real-time inventory tracking. I conducted simulation modeling using Simio, along with a full cost-benefit analysis and feasibility study to assess system effectiveness and investment viability. The project achieved a 50% reduction in service time, a 100% improvement in processing time, increased storage space utilization, and a break-even point within approximately one year. The project was supervised by Raafat Elshaer and demonstrated measurable improvements in operational efficiency, cost reduction, and workplace safety compared to traditional storage methods.
