Working as Finance Manager for Corporate & Commercial banking.
Managing Financial reporting of the Corporate banking which is among the largest in the region.
Preparing Plans, forecast & budgets
Preparing monthly performance analysis & KPIs
Reviewing product profitability, margins etc
Preparing, assigning and reviewing of team targets
Review of RWAs, Operational risk issues
Coordination for Credit rating agency data
Reporting to the CFO, managing a team of 12 staff which comprises 4 different teams ie. Financial reporting, MI and planning, Nostro reconciliation and the Central bank reporting, the major responsibilities include :
• Responsible for all financial reporting to Regional Head office, local statutory & Central bank reporting by ensuring compliance with group instructions and manuals, IFRS, local tax and corporate regulations.
• Preparation and presentation of financial analyses. Calculation of the Cost/value of Funds, Treasury funding, Expenses, Overall monthly results, and historical trend analyses and comparison of such analyses with industry data.
• Supervising the preparation of financial statements and other MIS including commentary and analysis for the local and regional management on monthly basis on area level and also on functional level.
• Calculation and reporting of monthly Risk Weighted Assets (RWAs) based on Basel I, Basel II (STD and AIRB approaches for both local and group reporting) along with preparing monthly analysis of the movement in credit, market and operational risks.
• Preparing and filing of annual income tax returns, coordinating with tax consultants incase of any query from the Revenue department.
• Being the member of ALCO, preparing the detailed document which includes analysis of the performance at area level as well as on customer group level, market and interest rate risk analysis, future trends, Risk weighted assets analysis etc
• Worked as acting CFO for 3 months when the CFO was deputed with the regional team in June- Sept 2011
Preparing of budgets, comparing the actual figures with the plan/ budget and preparing variance analysis
- Preparing financial feasibility of consumer products keeping in view the market conditions.
- Preparing annual budgets for the consumer group and branches.
- Coordinating with the policy, planning and marketing department for designing appropriate policies/procedures for new/ existing products
- Performing Financial testing of the Consumer products software ensuring that it is fully compatible with core banking software.
- Managing the finance of existing consumer portfolio
During my association with the firm in Pakistan, I conducted various statutory and special purpose audits and other related assignments at different local and foreign companies including banks / financial institutions and had the opportunity of understanding different audit techniques, advising clients for control weakness and recommending required improvements. Also liaisoning with the Management for preparing Annual/Quarterly Financial Statements in accordance with the applicable Accounting Standards and local statutory regulations. Advising client for implementing/ adopting new Accounting standards and ensuring its compliance and reviewing the tax related issues.
