Egypt Factors is a leading non-banking multinational financial institution specialized in corporate trade finance & factoring. Established in year 2006 as a joint venture between Commercial International Bank - Egypt "CIB" (40%), FIM Bank - Malta (40%) & International Finance Corporation "IFC" - World Bank Group (20%).
My current role can be summarized in Managing 5 teams, out of which 3 marketing teams, 1 credit team, and 1 telemarketing team. The role include:
* Managing the company's overall credit portfolio, as well as, managing & guiding the team approaching new prospects, reviewing credit proposals & memorandums ensuring proper structuring of facilities avoiding compromising on quality of risk & risk policy parameters.
* Monitoring & fine-tuning of subordinates performance to ensure meeting the company's annual budget & business scope.
* Targeting prospective - key & strategic - accounts needing structured trade finance for large tickets. In addition to handling & coordinating for syndicated factoring deals.
* Responsible of creating-updating short & long-term business plans & budgets.
* Preparing-reviewing all marketing plans, marketing campaigns, events, seminars, press releases, publications, newsletters, and business agreements.
* Reviewing of all types of periodic/annual reports, such as performance and portfolio analysis reports. In addition, being responsible of appraising the team-members' performance.
* Remedial management, including; negotiations, restructures, initiations of legal actions if needed & developing/enhancing credit controls & procedures to avoid similarities.
* Voting member in three committees; Loan Recovery Committee, Management Committee, and Risk Management Committee, which is responsible of approving new facilities & taking key risk decisions.
* In such emerging market & being the one of its kind in Egypt, one of my key responsibilities is setting & creating internal policies, procedures, manuals, evaluation modules & rules. In addition to developing new products & services.
* Managing credit & marketing team (being awarded several times as the best team leader), generating new business that meets the company's annual budget & its credit appetite, in addition to handling existing portfolio.
* Managing 55% of the company's portfolio, as well as, managing the team in approaching new prospects, preparing & reviewing credit studies and obtaining designated committee approvals after going through risk department.
* Targeting prospective - key & strategic - accounts needing structured trade finance for large tickets. In addition to handling, preparing & coordinating for syndicated deals.
* Co-responsible of creating-updating short & long term business development budgets & plans, in addition to being a management committee member.
* Involved in the process of preparing-reviewing all marketing plans, marketing campaigns, events, seminars, press releases, publications, and newsletters.
* Preparing all types of periodic & annual reports such as, performance reports & portfolio analysis reports.
* To introduce & market Egypt Factors' services in order to achieve a leading position in the market (being awarded several times as the top performer among the credit & marketing managers).
* To identify risk areas in order to avoid that Egypt Factors runs into a loss-producing situation & to, immediately, report such events to the responsible General Manager & Executive Committee.
* Negotiate with the customer in order to tailor the package of services that suits the customers’ needs & complies with his financial capabilities.
* Prepare the credit study in order to obtain the proper approvals.
* Setting priorities, strategies & targets for subordinates, distributing workload & following up on their performance.
* Monitoring market competitiveness, developing new ideas, conducting relative surveys.
* Participating positively in all meetings concerning innovating or setting new strategies & working policies.
* Developing customers’ relation through visiting existing & potential customers in order to introduce Bank’s services & identify customer needs.
* Preparing the required credit study for potential customers, including the following:
● Analysis of company operations for existing entities & review of feasibility studies for new projects.
● Risks inherited in the business & company’s operations & ways to mitigate it.
● Preparing financial statement & cash follow analysis.
● Projections for customer’s profitability & performance during the facility period including projections assumptions, which is driven from historical trends for existing entities & credibility questioning of presented feasibility studies for new projects.
* Negotiate with the customer in order to tailor the credit package that suits the customer’s needs & complies with his financial capabilities.
* Coordinate with other departments (Risk exposure & Credit control) in order to finalize the study to be introduced to the proper Credit Committee.
* Illustrate customer’s capabilities & financial needs to the Credit Committee members.
* Working with the concerned departments (Legal, Credit Control & Loans) in order to prepare & finalize the set of documents required to activate the approved facilities.
* Monitoring customers' performance & utilization under said facilities, in order to maintain control over facilities in terms of validity of documents & proper usage of fund.
* Preparing interim updates or requested amendments (from the customer) for the existing facilities.
* Working in contribution with other departments to set the internal processes/practices in order to ensure the rounding up & fine-tuning of the products.
* Preparing periodic performance reports & statistics concerning the existing facilities.
* Setting priorities for subordinates, distributing workload & following up on their performance.
* Monitoring market competitiveness, developing new ideas& participating positively in all meetings concerning innovating or setting new strategies & working policies.
* Assist in preparation of credit packages ensuring implementation of the Credit Policy Guide.
* Assist in preparation of periodic renewals or requested amendments for the existing facilities.
* Coordinate with other departments (Risk exposure & Credit control) in order to finalize the study to be introduced to the proper Credit Committee.
* Working with the concerned departments (Legal, Credit Control & Loans) in order to prepare & finalize the set of documents required to activate the approved facilities.
* Monitoring the customer performance & utilization under said facilities, in order to maintain control over the facility in terms of validity of documents, proper usage of fund & to ensure prompt settlement of dues.
* Ensure that facility utilization is within approved limits, structure & purpose & to report any breaches to the higher level.
* Assist in preparation of periodic & annual reports and statistics concerning the existing facilities.
* Following-up & coordinating with the bank’s central operations unit all types of corporate transactions, including, but not limited to, LCs, LGs, IDCs, ODCs, FX.
* Leading the back office clerks for the best performance, solve their problems, make sure of implementing work procedures to ensure the effective & efficient operation of the dept. & maximum cooperation inside & outside the dept.
* Handling customers’ complaints & enquiries.
* Responsible for the branch tellers’ area, cash & main vault.
* Lead the teller’s area team for the best performance, solve their problems & make sure of implementing work procedures to ensure effective & efficient operation of the area.
* Handling customers’ complaints & enquiries and cross-selling bank retail products.
“At the same time working as back office support for other bank departments (customer service, transfer, collection) after customer hours”
* Handle all types of cash-based, corporate & individual, transactions.
* Opening individual & corporate accounts, time deposits & certificates of deposit.
* Issuing debit & credit cards & cross-selling bank retail products.
* Following-up individual customers with past dues or arrears & finding solutions on how to settle their debts with the most feasible way that fits their circumstances.
* Executing local & international transfers through the s.w.i.f.t. system, issuing bank drafts & processing cheques collection “incoming & outgoing”.
