- Al Shaya company was launching in Tunisia which was a new market, and my ability to handle all its complications and challenges, as well as excelling at my work in Lebanon shipping team caught the attention of my higher management, subsequently I was offered the promotion to the position of Shipping Supervisor in Qatar Market since there was no vacancies in Lebanon.
- Main duties are as following:
1- Monitor all daily shipments and report daily issues to Management
2- Follow up with different stakeholders and ensure the implementation of all the processes that will benefit the company.
3- Make sure that all stakeholders are abiding by our timelines especially for shipments movements and invoicing
4- Set meetings with different parties that handle our clearance process in Qatar (customs and brokers) to keep finding the best and fastest ways to clear our shipments.
5- Handle different kind of claims (delays, damage, different kind of errors done by our LSPs)
6- Prepare monthly reports and timely reports as per management requests.
7- Follow up with team members to make sure that the procedures and requirements set by the company are implemented correctly.
8- Monitor team members and motivate them for better performance.
9- Setting up quarterly meetings with team members to evaluate their performances and highlight areas where they can improve
10- Following up with ministries for any approval needed as well as any requirement or follow up that needs to be done.
- Follow up with suppliers and brand teams to approve the shipments details that may delay the movement or the clearance of the shipment (description of goods.
- Follow up with shipping lines and freight forwarders for the movement of cargo from the country of origin to Lebanon.
- Follow up with the clearing agent to assure that the cargo is smoothly cleared and delivered to our warehouse (a special tracker is done for the shipments that are under clearance)
- Data entry for all the shipment details (invoice details, AWB details, clearing and freight charges) related to brands on a special software for the company that is used by all the related parties in different countries.
- Check and approve all the freight and clearance charges if they match the rates already approved by the Board of direction.
- Performing reports in order to evaluate the work process.
- Handling the operations process for the opening of a new market in Tunisia by communicating with suppliers, the clearing agent in Tunisia and freight forwarders.
- Setting processes for an efficient handling for Tunisia market by understanding the requirements of the market and adjust the workflow to better suit those requirements which helps in cutting time wasting.
- Increased communication skills due to the contact with colleagues from different nationalities and values within the company
- Got involved in all the stages of moving the cargo from the country of origin to the country of destination.
- Performing sea freight and air freight operations (Booking, follow up, negotiation with airlines and sea lines …)
- Took part in the building of the work process in the company

- Involved in the clearance and distribution of the cargo to the consignee.
- Warehousing duties; receiving goods, stuffing, distribution, and follow up with clients
- Started in the position of Junior Controller where my main responsibility was to check the reason of all the mail that was returned to sender (RTS reason) like “insufficient address for delivery” “ no one at the address” and other reasons
- Promoted in October 2011 to the position of National Control center Agent, my added tasks included to follow up with the post offices and to check all the mail that is delayed in the PO in order to be finished
- Received and monitored the complaints received from the customer care department and directly from the client
- Was the link between Beirut sorting center and all the distribution post offices.
- Promoted in May 2012 to the position of Key Account Agent where I had an additional task to follow up the mail of key clients(like banks) from the receipt of mail, delivery of mail till providing the final report to customer that includes the total of distributed mail to clients and returned mail to sender.
