As a trainee Medical Laboratory Assistant at Mpilo Hospital (January 2024 - March 2024) i managed to successfully operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate calibration and proper functionality under supervision.
I was also tasked with erpforming both routine and specialized laboratory experiments as directed by senior researchers, contributing to the advancement of ongoing projects.
I efficiently prepared chemical solutions, media, and reagents essential for various experiments, demonstrating a strong understanding of laboratory protocols and procedures.
• Oversaw daily laboratory operations and managed staf duties to ensure smooth functionality.
• Ensured compliance with MLCSZ standards, maintaining quality and regulatory adherence in the laboratory.
• Developed and implemented quality control measures within the laboratory ensuring quality standards are maintained and compliance adhered.
• Assisted senior scientist in conducting tests and analyzing biological samples to assist in diseases diagnosis.
• Ensured test accuracy by performing quality control checks and calibrating equipment under supervision.
• Assisted in maintaining and organizing the lab, including cleaning equipment and restocking supplies.
Graduated with Honors in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Africa University in July 2021, achieving a 3.61 CGPA and earning six letters from the university Senate for exceptional academic performance. Successfully registered with the Medical Laboratory and Clinical Scientists Council Zimbabwe in accordance with the Health Professions Act, CAP 27:19.
