I am currently working in Jeddah branch with one sales engineer, one customer service engineer, one erection engineer and the area manager. As a team, we are responsible to get new projects, manage the current projects and give our clients the best pre and after sales services. My role is providing a strong technical support to our clients, and also give the technical advice to my colleagues and my manager to help them in making decisions, and to manage the current running projects. My main responsibilities in Jeddah branch includes:
• Studying RFQ’s and tender documents
• Preparing the project information forms
• Inquiring about any clarifications from the client/consultant
• Answering all the queries coming from our Estimation/Engineering department
• Preparing and reviewing offers and contracts before submitting to the clients
• Attending all technical meetings with client/consultant to explain our offer and to discuss about any changes or revisions.
• Entering the won jobs properly to our Engineering department
• Following up the Engineering releases
• Reviewing the drawings before submitting to the customer
• Attending all the after sales meetings with the customer / consultant to discuss the design drawings.
• Managing the change orders technically and commercially and following up the payments
• Sending RFQ’s to the subcontractors.
• Comparing the offers coming from the subcontractors and preparing contracts with them.
• Following up the cash flow and the schedule of the project
• Responding to the consultant comments and solving the site problems
• Following up the construction process until the project is finished and handed over
Job Responsibilities:
• Study client/consultant drawings and come up with solutions for economic designs.
• Study tender specifications and project requirement both technical and commercial.
• Prepare the design of all components using very advanced design software (MBS), and prepare the estimate sheets for the quotations, prepare the proposal contract and put all the necessary notes, assumptions deviation etc.
• Revise quotations as required.
• Interact with sales engineers, managers and clients as and when required.
• Attend technical meetings with clients and consultants before and after sales.
• Follow up jobs with our Estimation/Engineering department and get all their questions answered during design, detailing, manufacturing and shipping.
As an Estimator for Abu Dhabi branch, I was gaining in depth knowledge of Pre Engineered Buildings industry. My
role included studying RFQ's, Design, and Estimation, Attending technical meetings and making revisions. During
my time in Mammut, I worked on many projects in UAE and achieved my first successful steps in the Gulf market.
My first role in the Engineering field was steel design and detailing at MAN CREW technical office. This
role enabled me to confirm that I was interested in a career path in this industry and helped me to put my
first steps on this path.
