Key Responsibilities:
- Implemented VPN solutions for my assigned customers over Orange MPLS network (Any-to-any/Any-to-one VPNs, Load balancing, Network to Network Gateways, Internet gateways, Quality of service, Redistribution, Backup solutions), and Cisco SDWAN (Viptela), Nexus, and Cisco uCPE/NFV designs.
- Validated and implemented customer WAN and LAN solutions (Core/distribution/access switches, Wireless LAN access points, Wireless LAN controllers, Riverbed Network optimization devices)
- The solutions of Wireless LAN include:
I. Autonomous APs.
II. Lightweight APs with different modes of operations (Local, Flex Connect).
III. Wireless LAN controllers ( WLCs) ( 2500, 4400, 5500 )
IV. Configuring multiple-solution SSIDs (Corporate with AD, SSIDs for bar code readers with MAC authentication, Guest access with L3 authentication/web redirect).
- Providing expert Technical Consultation to pre-sales, and project managers to validate, and review the technical design of new services.
- Meeting targets set by the management with regards, but not limited to Customer Satisfaction, and quality of implementation.
- Meeting the implementation projects milestones for customer’s plans, by achieving the target in a definite time-window.
- Acts as a direct point of contact for the designated customer for any technical aspects regarding the achieved design/implementation.
- Acts as the last escalation point for the customer in case of major operational incidents.
- Providing quarterly audits, and end to end testing for new services.
Key Achievements:
- As a VPO for 3 years in OBS, I had the chance to work with the top 3 customers for Cairo Team; CarlZeiss, Henkel and PMI. For which, I migrated hundred or more sites for each.
- Recognized from OBS top management for delivering an outstanding customer experience on long-term projects after migrating and supporting hundreds of sites for my customers.
- Reduced the time required to perform checks (from more than an hour to a few minutes) using Python programming language.
Projects:
- Global rollout of Network and Application Reporting Service for a designated customer.
- Migrations and expansions from legacy networks to Cisco uCPE and SDWAN (Viptela) designs, including several Routers, Switches, RVBs and Wireless LAN Controllers platforms.
- Large-scale EoL HW refreshes and edge routers H/W & S/W upgrade \[28xx, 29xx, ASR 1k, ISR, etc.\], Wireless Upgrade/extension.
Key Responsibility:
- Planning & Implementing Vodafone's internal services over its - IP/MPLS backbone’s infrastructure.
- Planning, implementation and troubleshooting corporate data mobile, VPN (EoMPLS) and Inter-AS MPLS solutions.
- Installation and configuration of Cisco Core routers (7609, GSR and CRS).
- Hand-on-experience in switching technologies (VLANs, STP, DTP, Ether Channels &SPAN/RSPAN/ERSPAN/Capturing) and routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS and BGP).
- Hands-on experience with MPLS enabled applications (MPLS-TE, LDP, MP-BGP, MPLS L3/L2VPN, Inter-AS, AToM and VPLS).

Key Achievement:
- Presented a session to elucidate the key benefits of Python scripts in our daily work in Vodafone, which was later recommended and encouraged by the upper management to save time and to increase accuracy.
Project:
- Global migration to change/expand Vodafone network hardware’s, including routers (ASRs) and switches.
Key Responsibility:
- Reporting and checking on spot any environmental instabilities on-site (Power fluctuations, temperature Increases).
- Ensuring the daily operation of the triple play network with minimal downtime and ensuring high network availability.
- Assessing and recommending the design of the core data network.
- Supporting in Major actions that need physical presence on site.
- Troubleshooting and solve Network problems IP/MPLS, QOS, MPLS-VPN, IP routing (OSPF) and traffic engineering.

Key Achievement:
- Interacted physically with high-end hardware (i.e. ASRs, VXRs, ISRs), and handling their line cards, modules and power supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design validation, provisioning & troubleshooting for customers' networks including; L2/L3 VPN, Internet & MVPN (Mobile VPN; customers with remote connection with 3G provider, & implementing IPsec/GRE solution for them).
- Responsible for upgrading/downgrading/suspending/activating of any of NOOR customers.
- Provisioning for (Mobile VPN) MVPN customers for both PE & the customer’s SOHO, to work as normal L3 VPN customer (IPsec over GRE using DMVPN solution), achieving redundancy &/or Load Sharing solutions through multi-homed ISPs.
- Migrating customers from ATM or TDM technologies to the Ethernet Technology.
- Implementing IPv6 in service provider environment using 6PE and 6vPE approaches.
- Training for new comers whenever required.
- Troubleshooting responsibility for the services offered to the customer (i.e.: ADSL, SHDSL, 3G, VPN, Internet), in addition to troubleshooting and maintaining the international links with the upstream providers in co-ordination with the Core team.
- Training and knowledge transfer to NOC upon request/planned.
- Participated in customers’ solutions assessments, evaluation process and new products installations in coordination with pre-sales and other teams.
- Provisioning New DSLAMs (i.e. Paradyne Zhone, Zyxel), configuring, & troubleshooting them when required
- Responsible for testing any new devices &/or new technologies in the company’s lab or any new behaviour that may arose to find out the root cause.
- Isolating customer problem and handle escalations to appropriate support team level if need (relative to the appropriate Customer/Product/Service SLA and using time-based and severity criteria).
- Managing communications with customers in event of scheduled/unscheduled service disruptions and/or outages.
Key Achievements:
- Professional handling with customers especially angry ones.
- Team supervision for 6 months as I was acting as shift leader, was responsible of any new comers’ handovers and was acting as a guidance of my projects for the operation team.
Projects:
- Engineered new Hardware with the cooperation of the development team (using C lang.) to achieve precise customer’s needs, and to achieve redundancy, reliability and load balancing required.
- Migration for all TDM/ATM customers to Ethernet technology roughly around 1000 customers’ sites.

ADSL Provisioning Network Engineer: (Nov 2009 - August 2011)
I was responsible for provisioning & troubleshooting any ADSL customer.
- Provisioning ADSL customers' connections.
- Familiar with different DSLAMs; Paradyne, ZTE, D-Link, ZxDSL; its installation & configurations.
- Familiar with BPXs, MGXs & Routers (i.e. 7200 & ASR)
- Creating & tracing cross connections along the entire path; DSLAMs (IP nodes & ATM nodes), BPXs, MGXs, Routers.
- Creating PVC on the routers for each customer's connection.
- Troubleshooting commands on Router c7200s.
- Familiar with the RADIUS & creating usernames as part of my provisioning task.
