•Ensure that all required inspections are performed, reported and repairs are recommended in a timely manner.
•Ensure that all inspections activities are performed in a safe manner and the data and recommendations are documented into the computerized inspection record system.
•Draw up career development plans and set objectives for engineers and inspectors. Guide them to achieve their objectives in compliance with the department objectives.
•Develop a comprehensive training program for the group employees and ensure that adequate and timely training is given to them.
•Appraises all inspection section employees and recommends promotions or highlights means of improving their performances.
•Responsible for all interoffice correspondences and reports. Coordinates all inspection related activities and assign work priorities to meet the management perspectives.
•Responsible to ensure development of maintenance/inspection risk based Equipment Strategies and implementation & tracking of their actions.
•Responsible to update inspection and QA/QC procedures and assure that these procedures are approved and implemented.
•Responsible to ensure that Inspection group is adequately staffed and equipped during periodic and turnaround inspections.

and resolving, in a cost-effective manner, both potential and actual problems in corrosion control and materials performance affecting operation and maintenance in oil, gas and water treatment facilities in the refinery.
•Providing front-line technical support to maintenance and operations in all inspection, corrosion control, QA/QC, materials performance and welding activities throughout the refinery.
•Preparing overall and comprehensive inspection reports and providing recommendations to resolve major problems related to material failures, high corrosion potentials and quality concerns.
•Recommending and implementing material upgrades and modification to process equipment and revising inspection engineering procedures as needed and based on lesson learned.
•Recommending and implementing chemical treatment programs to process equipment and monitoring their performance and effectiveness to mitigate corrosion related problems.
•Recommending and implementing on-line corrosion monitoring techniques such as corrosion coupons, corrosion probes with data loggers, UT strips, hydrogen patches and more.
•Developing maintenance and inspection risk based strategies for fixed equipment as well as for piping.
•Reviewing and/or issuing welding/NDE instructions and quality control procedure/ requirements for fabricating new equipment, repairing existing equipment, hot tapping…etc.
•Revising and developing the company technical standards, specification and guidelines related to materials, welding, QA/QC and corrosion.
•Participating in all phases of new projects and provide work directions, clarifications and approvals in issues related to metallurgical and corrosion engineering at all projects stages.

Responsibilities included performing of all welding, corrosion and metallurgical engineer duties, such as:
•Participating in the application of risk based methodology for fixed equipment and piping.
•Participating in risk assessment processes and ensures proper strategies in place to mitigate the risks of equipment failure and/or damage.
•Performing and supervising on-line corrosion monitoring of equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers and piping.
•Performing internal inspection, during shutdowns, of equipment such as furnaces, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and tanks.
•Participating in the integrity assessment of specific equipment with respect to High Temperature Hydrogen Attack at the weldments.
•Contributing in failure analysis problem solving and identifying the cause of corrosion/failure.
•Researching and analyzing long term corrosion/welding related problems and building equipment maintenance plan.
•Providing recommendations of materials selection and solving corrosion and welding related problems.
•Reviewing and/or specifying welding/NDE instructions and procedures for fabricating new equipment, repairing existing equipment, hot tapping…etc.
•Supporting the daily operations of the Refinery including shutdowns.
•Handling all the expansion project (UE-1) welding/corrosion and QA/QC issues.

Instructing ‘Materials Science and Engineering’ and “Physical Metallurgy’ courses. The curriculums included introduction and definations of the engineering materials along with their microstructure characteiastics, properties, designation systems, industrial codes and standards, phase diagrams, steel making, materials defects, nondestructive examination (NDE) techniques, heat treatments…etc.

Instructing Physical Metallurgy tutorials and labs for the second and third year university students.

Responsible for:
•Performing failure analysis and providing recommendations of materials selection, corrosion prevention and welding issues.
•Conducting corrosion testing and evaluating the performance of engineering materials and their welds in specific environments.
•Providing support of all different welding control Activities to resolve corrosion/failure problems.
•Participating in the application of new technologies in the field of corrosion monitoring and prevention.
•Evaluating corrosion data and history for different equipment and determine their remaining life and failure mitigation action as required.
•Evaluating the effectiveness of different corrosion chemical inhibitors for oil production and oil refinery applications.
