At Ernst & Young, Tareq is responsible to manage and deliver a portfolio of projects in the fields of risk advisory (Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance and Governance) services.

On a macro level, he is responsible for the overall delivery of services, starting of assessing the clients’ needs and expectations, developing the engagement methodology and approach, engagement planning, staffing requirements, budgeting and costing needs, as well as managing the communications with the clients’ executive management and supervisory bodies.

On an operational level, Tareq is responsible for the day to day activities of the engagements he manages from a technical, operational, financial, manpower, quality and regulatory aspects.

Tareq is also mandated to contribute to EY strategy, develop innovative service delivery methods, build the professional capacity and manpower capabilities internally within EY and beyond, with his clients.

Beside his professional thrive, Tareq has been privileged to be a member of various social and non-profit committees that aims to support children education, youth development and entrepreneurship.

Internal Audit (IA):
• Establishing / transforming IA functions, IA charters, manuals, policies & procedures, methodologies, approaches, working templates, etc.
• Risk assessments, IA plans, IA operations, IA Quality Assurance Program (QAP) with strategic clients.
• Regulatory audits, such as: Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) audits.
• Periodic interaction, presentations and reports to Audit Committees

Risk Management:
• Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): ERM functions, Risk Strategy, charters, Risk appetite, ERM manuals, Risk Registers, Risk monitoring tools and mitigation plans.
• Financial Risk Management (FRM): FRM framework: Operational Risk, Credit Risk, Liquidity and Market Risks.
• BASEL II and III framework, risk modeling and rating scorecards, credit risk portfolio management, stress testing, provisioning and disclosures.


Regulatory Compliance (Non-FS):
• Compliance frameworks, compliance manuals, regulatory monitoring plans, reporting templates and action plans.
• Securities listing rules, and commercial laws.
Regulatory Compliance (FS):
• Anti-money laundering (AML) and terrorist financing (CFT) framework, Know Your Customer (KYC) arrangements, suspicious transactions templates and reports.
• Internal Capital Adequacy Requirements.
• Regulatory requirements of their license activities: “arranging, dealing, custody and advising”.

Board of Directors (BoD) Assistance / Governance:
• Governance framework, BoD Terms of Reference (TORs), Corporate Governance manual, policies & procedures, code of ethics and delegation of authority matrix (DOA).
