Hospital Information:

The University Hospital is located immediately adjacent to the impressive Medical Campus of the University of Sharjah in University City. It comprises 210 beds, 40 specialty Outpatient Clinics, 11 ICU beds, 6 CCU beds, 10 neonatal ICU beds, 9 Day Care Unit beds, 6 Operating Theatres, Labour Ward, 28 Emergency Room beds, and its Pharmacy provides medication to patients at all hours, day and night.
The Medical Diagnostic Imaging Department has state of the art equipment that includes MRI, 128 slice CT scanner, Ultrasound, fluoroscopy, digital mammography, and bone densitometry. The Pathology Laboratory is fully equipped with state of the art modern equipment operated by highly qualified, experienced staff.

Duties / Responsibilities:
• Review with the Hospital Consultant and Main Contractor all needed Design Modification for all requirements needed for medical equipment installation and any new clinical requirements in the Main and Dental Hospitals.
• Medical planning, medical equipment & furniture planning, specification and tender documents preparation, queries, pricing, collecting offers, preparing quotations, submittals and site supervision of healthcare projects.
• Prepare the medical equipment requirements for all the Hospital needs, including the pre-installation requirements, prepare Tender specifications and evaluation.
• Prepare the Departmental Policy and Procedures.
• Participate in the commissioning and Operating of the University Hospital and Dental Hospital.
• Assist the management Team of any requirements related to Medical Equipment matters such as ensure Safety and the compliance with the international Standards. (Canadian Accreditation).
• Supervise and direct all aspects of acquisition, maintenance, and repair of the Medical Equipment, as well as ongoing training and education of Staff related to Safe Medical Device uses and practices.

• Direct and manage the Medical Equipment Management Plan throughout the Hospital. Direct the Medical Equipment Maintenance Program in the Hospital, ensure the Documentation of all Maintenance Activities and Orders meet the departmental Procedures.
• Ensure the review of Supplies, instrumentation, and facilities in the Hospital relative to Safety and Performance, and recommend required or desirable changes. Specify requirements relative to the existing environment, Hospital requirements and Standards or Accreditation requirements.
• Participate in the commissioning and operation of a hospital.
• Ensures the safe disposal of Medical Devices that have no further use in the Hospital.
• Ensures all medical devices meet current safety and operational standards.
